Thank you for that concise recap of DC"s crisis event history, though I am familiar with it. I do feel though, even after reading your explanation among the others, that Luthor's line there was extremely poorly put. It makes very little sense when taken at face value and the reference given by the editor doesn't help in the slightest for confused readers. I've even seen some people (like Comic Curator on YT) claiming that Luthor's statement proves that the Omniverse never existed and was actually a false creation made by Darkseid!

Flashpoint Beyond #5 did help clarify things going forward though, much like The New History of the DC Universe is doing now.

So you have a statement that says “Buuhan is the strongest Buu” in the time when Kid Buu was conceptualized? Because I have multiple statements for the other way around. Kid Buu is the stronger Buu, his introduction started with the Supreme Kai saying the Absorptions were weaker than him.

The original manga, in the original Japanese, stated kid buu was the most dangerous because he was completely feral. It was impossible to reason with him. Majin Fat Buu was somewhat able to be reasoned with, as exhibited by its willingness to listen to Babidi. Super Buu was convinced by Piccolo to wait until Trunks and Goten could fuse again. And Buuhan had Piccolo's and Gohan's intelligence, which is why he was the most competent fighter out of all the Buus, and the most verbose.

Kid Buu from the jump started destroying the planet, which no other villain up to that point had done. Said villains capable of destroying a planet also had a functioning, rational mind. Imagine if Frieza acted like Kid Buu, then there's be no time for Goku to Zenkai to get Super Saiyan. Imagine if Perfect Cell were feral, then he would never have tortured the Z warriors to get Gohan angry enough to transform to SS2. All the big bads would have been 10x worse if they weren't proud enough to allow the Z warriors to eventually get the upper hand.

Also, the most obvious example is the fact that Super Saiyan 3 Goku was fighting evenly with Kid Buu and only lost because he no longer had the benefit of being dead to counteract SS3's massive energy drain. That same Goku was completely outclassed by regular Super Buu and thought the only chance to defeat him was either with Gotenks or Ultimate Gohan. Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta was able to hold Kid Buu off, which was not something he was willing to consider for Super Buu.

Just because Kid Buu was the last bad guy, that doesn't mean he's the strongest.

You claim Kid Buu is only "dangerous" because he’s feral. You claim he isn't the strongest. You are objectively wrong, and I have the Supreme Kai’s own words to prove it.

Let’s look at Dragon Ball Volume 34, Chapter 508 (The Original Manga). Look at the bottom panels of the scan I posted.

Panel Context: Kibito Kai is explaining exactly what happened to Buu’s physiology after they ripped "Good Buu" (Fat Buu) out of Super Buu.

The Japanese Text (Bottom Middle Panel):

Kibito Kai:「……はい…吸収によってパワーを減らしてまで手に入れた心が…またもとにもどってしまった……」

The Direct Translation:

*“…Yes… the heart which he obtained **by going so far as to reduce his power through absorption**… has returned to its original state again…”*

Did you catch that? Or do you need me to spell it out?

*“Power wo herashite”* (パワーを減らして) means **"REDUCING POWER."**

The Supreme Kai explicitly states that by absorbing the Grand Supreme Kai (Dai Kaioshin)—the act that created Fat Buu—Buu actually **lost power** in exchange for gaining a "heart" (control/reason). Your entire argument hinges on the idea that Absorptions = Stronger. The manga explicitly refutes this. The "Buff Buu" (South Supreme Kai absorption) was strong, and stated to have a higher Ki than Super Buu (the first sign that the whole "absorption = stronger" thing was false and another sign that the reduction of absorptions wasn't making Buu weaker but stronger)

When Kid Buu appears, Old Kai (Bottom Right Panel) says:

「…いまの…あのちいさな魔人ブウは…最初…いちばんやっかいなヤツじゃと……」

*“…This… that small Majin Buu now is… the initial… the most troublesome one…”*

He isn't just "troublesome" because he's loud or feral. He is troublesome because the "*restraint*" on his power—the "heart" that reduced his power—is gone.

Context implies everything. Inside Buu’s body, Goku was at his smaller size which guides confirm reduced his and Vegeta's powers to 1/100th less than normal, lacking the leverage to fight. Furthermore, when fighting Kid Buu, Goku explicitly states he overestimated his own ability to maintain SSJ3 in a living body. He thought he could one-shot Kid Buu if he gathered his ki for one minute something he never claimed he couldn't do against Buuhan, in fact, the guides place Buuhan ON Goku's level at max. The narrative point stands: Kid Buu pushed a 100% SSJ3 Goku to the absolute brink of stamina failure, something no other form did because the fight dynamics were different.

I don't exactly mind the statement on how they designed Leon based on the female gaze because there just isn't an equivalency between how men are designed for the female gaze versus how women are designed for the male gaze. We're not going to get jiggle physics Leon in a skintight outfit with plenty of creep shots.

What I think we should scrutinize more is how that statement from Capcom has colored the way people react to people appreciating Leon's looks. As far as I'm concerned, Leon has always been designed to be attractive so this is nothing new... but there's a lot of disdain or spite in how his looks have been described now that they've gone out of their way to say it's for the female gaze. The weird little bald Leon movement felt like this big "finally!" moment for people who wanted to counter all the comments on sexism too. I think I am letting Capcom slide a bit because at least there's some level of good intent compared to all the weird stuff people are saying and doing between their Tifa and 2B danbooru searches.

That's what I was trying to get at; the upset over Leon doesn't come from him being sexy, it's that them stating that they took the female gaze into that recontextualizes it for insecure men.

Starting with his rebrand in RE4, Leon is sexy, but in a way that boosts a guys ego; femme fatale spends most of her screentime when she's not doing ninja shit to do a will-they-won't they dance with Leon while young college student Ashley spends the game being dependent, flashing panty shots and ends the game by propositioning Leon to go fuck afterwards. Contextualized with Leon as the big strong smooth hero, the women are virtually accessories as far as these men see it. 6 has Ada, Helena and her naked sister boss fight all revolving around Leon's orbit and then RE2R loops back around and he's given high-fidelity chemistry with both Claire and Ada.

Leon's stories all tend to revolve around girls/women, often vulnerable girls/women, which plays into men's egos. Re9 just breaks a bit of the illusion by 'conceding' that ideal aesthetic to women and we know how men get when women have the audacity to have interests or be catered to in any way.

This is a very common response we now see to just about everything, and, respectfully, it's never useful.

When we had the assassination attempt on Trump, people instantly speculated that it was a fake attack. Every time Israel blows up a hospital or something and it's proven that the videos are real, they then pivot to the next thing in the chain which is "actually it was the victims who did this to themselves to garner sympathy". Trump suggested that maybe Iran blew up the school you're referring to. Sure, that's an unusually inept variation on the theme, but you yourself made the suggestion in an earlier post before you'd thought through the idea and realised that they have variations on the Shahed type. That was a post hoc rationalisation; the thought was already there and you offered it pre-emptively.

I think it's imperative to be sceptical, but it's bad to lean on conspiratorial modes of thinking as a reflex. It encourages tunnel vision and gets in the way of finding the truth. As we all know there is plenty of confusion misinformation going around about this war (and basically everything these days). Some of this is deliberate propaganda, but a lot of it is caused by people firing from the hip based on very preliminary information.

I think calling it conspiratorial is a bit much. With this specific conflict, the lengths that the Israelis have gone to to initiate this war which is something Netanyahu has wanted to do for decades, the lengths they go to sabotage negotiations, the US massacring school children and writing it off as 'we're investigating', and like you said the undoubted amount of intentional misinformation that is going on behind the scenes, which all just the tip of the iceberg, thinking that could be a possibility doesn't feel out of bounds at all.

I'm not suggesting it is necessarily the case. I said I wouldn't put it past them. You said yourself it's imperative to be skeptical. There's no hard proof of anything, but I am just that: skeptical.

I think calling it conspiratorial is a bit much. With this specific conflict, the lengths that the Israelis have gone to to initiate this war which is something Netanyahu has wanted to do for decades, the lengths they go to sabotage negotiations, the US massacring school children and writing it off as 'we're investigating', and like you said the undoubted amount of intentional misinformation that is going on behind the scenes, which all just the tip of the iceberg, thinking that could be a possibility doesn't feel out of bounds at all.

With this slippery slope logic you can say any sort of speculation whatsoever is conspiratorial, as if something like this is completely 100% out of the realm of possibility. If you think it's absolutely impossible, that's fine. I think it's a bit naive.
