Good good. I don't have a lot of faith in Denis Villenueve when it comes to women, espeically in his extremely men centered films but Dune: Part Two deliberately deviated from the source material to give Chani a chance to be more.

Off the top of my head...

Dune 1 & 2 - Rebecca Ferguson has a major focus in both movies, not to mention Zendaya/Florence Pugh/Lea Seydoux all playing intelligent characters as befitting the world of Dune
Arrival - Amy Adams is the protagonist and I'm pretty sure this movie passes the bechdel test
Sicario - Emily Blunt is a good unconventional protagonist
Blade Runner 2049 - Movie's antagonist is female and Ana de Armas' character is an unconventional and very well done love interest 

Princess Bubblegum is an actual fucking moron. He will never understand that attacking men does not make him seem more ladylike.

I'm also annoyed at the "give Chani a chance to be more" framing. I don't mind that they deviated from the book but book Chani being a religious zealot is interesting in itself too.

The entire point of dune is that millenia of breeding programs have led to one specific individual, who should actually be a woman but is a man being the only person who can do the thing, so yeah why not make Chani the emperor because, err she could be so much more

To be fair, Chani isn't much of a character in the books but changing that in the movie means Paul doesn't have a son to be killed which is part of the reason he was willing to unleash the jihad.

Polytechnique - Movie about a mass shooting of women in an engineering school by an incel
Prisoners - Shows that women can be strong serial killers too!!!

Two thoughts on this really...

1) people are welcome to have their opinions on AI, positive or negative

2) the outright psychotic behaviour of a not so insignificant portion of the anti-AI community is only going to push people further from their cause. The sheer number of death threats, bomb threats, SA threats I've seen towards people over the subject is horrific

Number 2 is unfortunately a tale as old as time. Modern discourse is essentially telling people they're fucking stupid and wishing ill upon them if they happen to take a different stance on a subject.
