I’m honestly surprised when anyone says they’d rather sub to Netflix than just torrent thing, put it on portable hard drive, plug drive into TV. The last time I subbed to Netflix it was £7.99 a month. Then they raised the sub to a tenner and all the good tv shows vanished. So that was booted. We had Amazon prime for the movies. £5 a month. Then they raised the sub and added adverts so that got booted. Apple tv was £5 but that was shit. Now I just torrent everything and buy the stuff I like when it goes on sale

I have my puter connected directly to my tv through hdmi. not sure what the big difficulty with setting that up is

That's how i've got it, and with qbitorrent there is a search engine built in, but there are caveats to it that have kept me paying for netflix in particular. If you want something in best quality it can be a 50GB download which is not necessarily coming down in a heartbeat, and even with the search engine sometimes older stuff can be obscure or in worse quality. 

Torrenting gets me newest stuff in 1080p easy enough but sometimes things just look better with less faff on netflix, but only rarely.

Also while i can in theory plex from anywhere in reality its usually shite and doesn't work well outside the house

They jacked up the price to 20.99 for the 4K HDR subscription which is what I have. 

Sky Showtime 4K is 13.99 monthly  (10/month for a yearly subscription)
Disney Plus 4K is 15.99

Netflix is by far the most expensive but still has the best selection overall.

It's more convenience. The TV has netflix button, you pick something from the list, done.

Downloading stuff, streaming my PC to my TV with a Plex server and all that. Fixing audio sync issues, Windows HDR bugs, codecs and libraries etc. etc. I'm done with that shit 

Netflix + 4K Blu-Ray + Switch 2 digital only

When the Xbox dies I'll swap it out for just a 4K Blu-Ray player.

I've shifted through 20 - 25 years of junk so far. Megadrive games, DS games etc. traded in but also literally junk like gaming magazines.
I keep "token" items, like 1 magazine or 1 action figure and get rid of everything else. Gaming wise I'm down to the "core" titles up to the Wii U generation and even that seems like a lot.
Pokemon Soul Silver is a good example it sells for 299. I might sell it too. The LEGO is the big question mark, perhaps even more valuable than the Nintendo stuff but sorting it all out, building the sets and taking pictures will take ages. I might just contact a collector give him an idea of what I have and see if I can sell it in bulk.

This store gave me a 20% coupon. Every time I use it, they give me it back and add a second 20% coupon. I only shop there to use the coupon. And the prices are already comparable if not lower than other stores. I don’t understand. The money keeps moving in a circle.

Collected another stack for trade-in. Mostly Wii games. The Sonics and Need for Speeds.

The DS/Wii collection fits into one bag now. That's still 20+ games for each console.

But I might just get rid of everything Wii U. Forget it ever existed like Nintendo. Also found out that a Sonic statue I have goes for 650. Bought that for 50 at a clearance sale.
I'll have to do dig it up from storage and see if it's actually the right one. 

Optimizing costs is almost done. The split used to be 80 - 90% expenses 10 - 20% investment, now we're moving to 60% expenses 40% investments.

That 20% doesn't even change my quality of life that much. Cheaper car insurance, bunch of subscriptions I don't need and my new breakfast oats/fruit/creatine/whey/milkshake instead of croissants. However it could double my capital at the end of this year. Aiming for the first 100k by age 40 at the latest.

Wii U long term remains a time bomb disaster, it 100% requires the pad to function, and if the pad goes too long without charging it forgets its own firmware, but if you just leave it charging without using it it also ruins the battery and will die for that reason too? or something crazy like that?

The Wii U can die in a dozen ways. You can end up in an endless update required loop if something goes wrong during the Wii U Gamepad updating process but the console itself succesfully updates. 

By now most games worth a damn have been ported. We're down to Splatoon, Zelda TWW+TP HD, Star Fox Zero, Paper Mario: Color Splash, Nintendoland, Yoshi's: Wooly World and some D-tier titles after Xenoblade Chronicles X made it to Switch (2).

problem with the echo mini and shokz combo. every time I power down the pairing gets deleted. having to pair the player and headphones every time I use them is lame. I hadn't seen anyone mention that in the reviews, so I'm guessing it's just the headphones I'm using

He suggested to double the help from bi-weekly to weekly. I asked him who would make the decision, he claimed that was up to him.
I asked him what happens if the providers don't deliver in that case he'll go look for a different provider.
When my mother goes to the mental clinic, the providers are not allowed to suspend their help for 3 months. 

My fathers financial situation is ok and he wants to donate his stuff to his amateur radio operator club if he has to "move" and can't take it with him.

At a buffet lunch and yesterday I read a review for the place complaining that they remove empty plates from the table too quickly and it causes anxiety.

Now all I’m noticing is how quickly they remove the plates. I got up to get water and not even 15 seconds my plates are gone.

I've seen this at some Chinese places before. People will clearly be finished even if there's some food still left on the plate and push the plate towards the edge of the table and get up. Then they'll be visibly upset it was taken and mutter something like "but I wasn't finished..." Maybe leave it at your spot or push it towards the wall instead?  

For some reason I always suspect that if the plates were left they actually wouldn't eat the food left, especially because they never seem to get any more. Though maybe it's some kind of thing where they get full from everything else and since it's still there they'll eat it rather than get up again even if they'd prefer something else?

Lots of room in this world for good survey research but yet it's all wasted on useless topics like national economies or whatever.
