 I didn’t say I watched the video, just that I agreed with Uncle point. I just called Uncle out because my impression is that he was resentful of DF backpedaling and based his opinion from a rando that shares his values. Just like Messy.  

He said no, he watched both video and I said “okay, fair, dunno why you need to mention you didn’t until you saw the other dude opinion.”

I mean, he said I could disagree with him (which, I don’t exactly do, but my first subjective impression is that I don’t like him). I agree with him in the notion that DF should stick with their impressions, that they audience are tech enthusiasts, and death threats are not cool and the tribal discourse is killing internet discussions.

Oliver has always been the worst part of DF.

Also, this is an incredibly spicy take, but I'm starting to get annoyed by people always adding "don't send us death threats though." Yes, it is fucking abhorrent that people do that shit, and it should not be approved of in any way, but sooo often it comes off like a way for people to be able to shield themselves from genuine criticism.

Their takes on DLSS5 (specifically Richard and Oliver) deserve to be criticized and scrutinized. They deserve to have to either walk it back, or stand up for their beliefs so people know where they stand. The tiniest group of rabid idiots who threaten them, shouldn't be used as a way to discredit the criticism.

No matter what you say or do as a public person, there will be idiots without emotional maturity or common sense who will find a reason to threaten you because they as cowards feel safe behind their monitors. It's fucking horrible that it's a thing, but there's more than a 0% chance that it will happen, and those odds should be taken into account when addressing criticism.

And to clarify: I'm not victim blaming them in any sense here. They do not deserve to be threatened or abused. To me, their statement just rings as them not addressing any of the complaints or criticism, and then using the awful harassment as a way to not have to face the criticism.

I can't speak for what their intentions were in posting that but for what it's worth you only posted that yesterday and it's in a thread that doesn't move that fast but is ever-present so anyone who checks up on it from time to time is likely to have seen it.

I hope you believe me when I say I have nothing against you personally but you've been kind of strange about the AI stuff lately. You openly create AI content. You uploaded like a dozen AI generated songs with AI thumbnails for an AI band to youtube just four days ago. Then three days after you do that you make a post about how sick you are of AI and you don't want to see it on here or talk about it. Then the next day you make another thread about analyzing AI thumbnails. I'm not trying to accuse you of being dishonest or anything but you're at least being inconsistent.

In general I always respect a massive post about a hyper-fixation, functionally it's a great post. But most of us are also sick of AI and lately it feels like there's more and more threads about it, alongside more and more people showing up in those threads to defend it or downplay it's issues. That's already happening here. So people who saw your previous post may very well get annoyed at you generating more of the thing you also said to be sick of just yesterday. Ultimately, this forum skews very heavily anti-AI and there are rules against making threads just to highlight AI. This at the very least walks the line of that, so don't take it personally when people aren't thrilled at it.
