Some posters try to get around that by doing a generalized "I can't believe some of the posts in this thread from so called progressives" so they can be pithy and superior still but lampshade their insults, and that sort of thing is pretty difficult to directly moderate.



And we all agree that it is a cultural fabric of the internet thing, how some people are inclined to speak to others like they don't have any sense or manners, which is an inertial force that no one corner of the internet has ever solved.



So ultimately I think it comes down to us as individuals making a collective effort. And sure it feels like a herculean task given the game theory that underpins such a culture change, but it's also the most holistic and sustainable.

I still fully believe to this day Forspoken wouldn't have been near as hated online if it was a white man instead of a black woman for a main character. Frey is, legitimately, one of my favorite characters and the fact that online racism essentially sent the game to die is so fucking sad.
