Consider me an ally then. What exactly is the point of this? It looks like a shot for shot remake right down to the aestetics, except for one change by giving Snap dreads. All of that, fine, but the OG movies are still some of the most watched movies in the whole world on a yearly basis. Well the point is obviously to print money, but if it is indeed all the same, I wonder if we'll see some rejection of it for the OGs. Granted I guess Warners could bury them.

A series will probably expand a lot of stuff omitted or adapted out from the books. For many, that’s probably enough to justify the series.

I’m just hoping it’s more plot accurate.  I also like the idea of a tv show format because the length of the books from 4 on meant a ton of less important story beats got cut to fit a decent run time for a movie.  But I know that I’m an absolutely insufferable snob when it comes to media adaptations of books and I’m almost never happy so chances are I won’t make it through the first season and I’ll become an unwilling ally of the trans

What buns me out that it's almost guaranteed that they'll have to recast John Lithgow at some point. They already said that they can't do a yearly schedule so this endeavor will at minimum take 14 years. Lithgow is 80.

It's not even a true statement. Era regularly struggles to comprehend the fallacy of hasty generalization/composition. I think it may partly be because they're fairly illiterate. They don't understand the nuance within someone saying something like "the working class supported Trump" or "Hispanics voted for Trump." Or conversely, eliminate nuance and so say things like "Americans want ICE abolished" or "Black people want to abolish the police." Also why a lot of them seem to be under the impression that they're women.

There’s literally already a lot that is in this teaser trailer that wasn’t in the first movie. The bullying in Normal school, cutting his hair only for it to grow back, in the books hagrid and Harry do talk in the train, snowball fights in Hogwarts over Christmas, and Harry and Ron goofing off at Christmas in Hogwarts. From Azkaban and Goblet of Fire (especially this, almost 60% of plot stuff was cut in the movies), if the show makes it, there will be so many new things to show. And frankly from all the filming leaks, there will also be more stuff that will be expanded. 

And not to mention misrepresentations of characters like Ron, Ginny and even Hermione that the movies got away with.

People need to get over the fucking movies. Really do not how anyone can see this and say, yes it’s the same thing.
