She ultimately voted against the entire defense package on the floor vote however, so I'm not sure if it really amounted to anything. Alyssa Mercante's lawyers sent Tarzia a settlement offer last week Tuesday. (she shared the link to the settlement letter on BSky so this is not a leak or anything)



Before folks get all crazy, they sent the settlement offer because a bunch of the discovery that they've been after for months finally arrived, and in it are several smoking guns courtesy of Tarzia's now incessant use of ChatGPT for...well...everything. Basically they have Tarzia dead to rights on knowingly lying about things (thus establishing actual malice), as well as on bias-based harassment AND on the big hurdle of jurisdiction. Even with some bits redacted the stuff shown in the settlement letter is damning. Plus there's the whole section on how Tarzia's use of ChatGPT opens both him and Ron Coleman up to sanctions. chefkiss.jpg right there.



The settlement would involve three things:



1) Tarzia must remove every piece of content that goes after Alyssa Mercante and publicly apologize and recant.

2) Tarzia must never again talk about Alyssa Mercante.

3) Pay a settlement amount of REDACTED.



The whole thing is pretty much a power move on the part of Alyssa Mercante's lawyers, they've got Tarzia dead to rights and would get everything they want out of the settlement. I can guarantee you that Tarzia will not accept, especially as the drop-dead date on the settlement offer is Tuesday. Tarzia's been spinning out on socials about it, and Ron Coleman's a hack, so refusing the lifeline is sadly on-
brand for them.

The US elections basically boil down to a few key states, sometimes with razor thin margins.
If you put the secret police in key polling areas and have them shoot a few people before the elections, then yes, you CAN deter voters from showing up.
Authoritarian rule isn't put in place by having an overwhelming number of armed soldiers everywhere at once. It's a relatively small number vs a very large population, but it still works.

I disagree that any normal person would want to do that. Capitalism has trained us to not care for other people and to not improve the lives and the environment around us. This is the end goal of capitalism: make people fight for scraps while the ultra wealthy hoard everything.
