I agree with this post, the United States are currently a threat to the entire fucking world and just waiting until November for a chance at starting to untangle the mess simply isn't enough. Trump needs to be removed from power right now, and if he is going about ignoring the rule of law then it should be responded in fucking kind. It doesn't even need to be a coup, just fucking kill him or banish him to a remote cabin in Alaska IDC.

Guys, once again: you cannot call for assassinations, you cannot call for coups, you cannot call for people to be shot, you cannot call for any of that sort of thing. If we let those sorts of posts go without being moderated we risk the entire site getting shut down. This is not about ideology, this is about protecting the broader community.

It's not even that, it's literally "If we let people do that shit the entire community could get shut down." We aren't even thinking ideology with these bans, we are thinking "We cannot let a handful of angry users get the entire community taken off the internet" because people's words can have consequences for not only themselves but others.



I shouldn't have to constantly remind people to remember that or beg people not to make those sorts of posts. We have been incredibly clear about this for a long, long time.

personally, i am a pacifist and would never advocate for people to violently remove anyone from power (or inflict any kind of violence on anyone) but i am not sure i buy that allowing such posts would get the forum shut down. i know for a fact that such posts exist on other forums, even on other forums within the mobafire network, which resetera is a part of, so i'm curious why those places have not been shut down

Can we have a statement about hostility towards Canadians complaining about the US on threads about Trump contemplating invading Canada? In the thread about him now deciding not to(for now), a user is telling another to "eat shit" because the user is complaining about Americans and they took it personally.



I'm not trying to move drama from another post in here, but instead have a consistent ruling on any thread involving other countries being upset with the United States and users coming in to just say #notallamericans and then get upset when anyone challenges them on it.



It ends up with Canadians being banned for what is essentially bait posts from Americans to get us upset at what your country is threatening to do to ours.

To me, the sanctity of ResetEra of worth as much as used toilet paper, so if this site (and others) get shut down because the Feds don't like what people are saying on it, then so fucking be it. They can't stop this billowing unbridled rage from people and it's going to bite them in the ass aslong as they keep escalating. This man is threatening the genocide of a country of 90 million people. There is going to be reciprocal rhetoric from randos online towards this administration. All that said, every single commander and military goon that follows through with this man's commands will need to face justice. Every single one. I'm honestly considering running for president. I know there is no chance I'd win, but I just don't trust anyone to do what needs to be done to fix this country. Someone here give me some hope by pointing out a candidate who will rebuild a stable democracy by reigning in presidential powers, putting real limits on campaign finance and overt bribery like luxury RVs, getting term limits, breaking up large corporations, fixing tax laws, actually balancing the budget, and not shutting on allies and starting needless wars. Someone who will govern for the people. Why is that so hard to find?
