Watched some Seedance compilation of “fights” and I can’t tell if it’s impressive or awful or the standards for movie VFX is so shit the standards have dropped. So, the AI remade finale of Stranger Things or Superman look as bad or good as the $700 Million junk they’re putting out. And 99% of this is Ready Player One shit of smashing toys together. “What if Thanos fought Godzilla and Doraemon was there?”

like ok congratulations, there aren't obvious problems every 3 seconds, you've at least reached the level of standard hollywood slop

you can also tell it was made with care and intention to tell a story, basic writing and storyboarding

backlash against this kind of thing is so sad

ok, so the person isn't hand-animating it...but if it looks the way they want it to look, what's wrong with that? if given endless time and resources they would produce something that looks essentially identical to this, then what's the problem? and if it doesn't represent what they would want to create, then surely they wouldn't be satisfied with it and would want to make changes to it until it IS what they wanted to make

people don't animate cartoons like this anymore because it takes weeks or months of work for such a small clip, the ability to make it in minutes is completely amazing

arbitrarily demanding that people sacrifice months or years of their limited time on earth just to make a similar clip is insane

it's like saying if you want to move out west, a car is cheating, you have to build a covered wagon and breed some horses or else it's not legitimate
