I was trying to work out permutations for the knockouts but there are so many possibilities with eight (there are only 12 groups!) third-place teams going through that it’s impossible.

But that’s why I don’t think any big teams fail to advance. Even if Germany underperform, they’d have to be apocalyptically bad to not go through in a group with Curacao.

From what I've seen the Dutch team has an easy group so the guys will not take the matches seriously.
