You have a favorite restaurant that you've dined at for many years now. You love it because they serve high quality food and are staffed by people who care about making the experience of eating at the restaurant good. One day, you notice a new item on the menu.

Slop.

"What's this for?" You ask the waiter.

"It's for the pigs. Pigs eat slop."

Over time, a 2nd flavor of slop shows up on the menu. Then a 3rd. Then you notice some of the old menu items you used to love now come with a non-optional side of slop. All menu items are now designed with the pigs in mind, on the chance that one of them might try their hand at human food. The quality and preparation of the human food that's left on the menu also starts to degrade. When you ask the restaurant staff about it they inform you that they no longer have the resources to make sure the human food is prepared correctly; they're too busy making slop. You notice that some of the restaurant patrons that you've become good friends with have stopped showing up. You stop showing up. You are upset with the direction the restaurant is taking and post about it on social media. You get two types of replies.

1. ⁠I am a pig and I eat slop
2. ⁠The restaurant is doing so well and has so many patrons. How can you be upset? Getting more customers into the restaurant has to be a good thing.

The 2nd comment is particularly frustrating because it naively assumes that the entire restaurant clientele wants the same things. But you don't want 5 different flavors of slop. You want human food that is prepared by people who are passionate about food and who care about the experience of dining at the restaurant being a good one. It's something you used to be able to get here, but can't anymore. You don't care if there are more pigs eating at the restaurant now. You liked things just fine when there were no pigs and contrary to this sentiment, things have gotten worse for you as the restaurant has grown, not better.

The Vietcong are doing something in the first Journal archive, but that may just be because it's the first large thread by thread number. Even despite that thread being slow for whatever reason I can't imagine just viewing it would take up that much of our CPU and searching is the only thing I could think of that takes any of our resources. Also that's the most obvious way they could dig tunnels under capitalist territory.

Yesterday, a post about ExtraEmily and a website, Viewbot.ai, was posted on the subreddit. The original thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/LivestreamFail/comments/1sni5xr/extraemily_accidentally_leaks_viewbot_service) was removed by a member of our mod team. They stated: "I removed this thread because it looks like the Viewbot.ai website is a pop-up from the 67speed website that appeared when she opened it to try the challenge." Trying to do due diligence, multiple members of the mod team themselves tried, but could not recreate the pop up on our own end. We tried multiple browsers, incognito, mobile, everything, and we could not recreate the pop-up. The same mod that removed the original thread said that they did recreate the pop-up by "spamming the start button" and we took their word on it, and started to remove threads and comments that kept popping up about the situation.

More threads and comments popped up questioning why we would remove these threads and pushed back on the claims that it was a pop-up. We tried to gather more proof, but they said that they could not recreate it and suggested the pop-up may have been removed. After that, we decided to leave a post up with a more neutral title.

Today, it started to become more apparent that this moderator may have lied, or fabricated the claim of a pop-up, to seemingly protect ExtraEmily. Through more digging, we were able to confirm that they are an avid Extra Emily clipper, poster and a very active member of her community and Discord. Mods are going to have biases and be viewers, but we cannot allow that bias to influence how we moderate or what rules we follow.

We still have not been able to recreate the pop-up, and neither has other communities that tried. With all of that being said, we have decided to remove this mod from the team. We promised to be more transparent in our moderation, and if we screw up, we think it's important to be open about it. Thank you to members of the community who reached out to challenge the original claims of a pop-up.

They don't care. Everything is compared to their limited utopian imagination where nothing they dislike ever happens. They believe that the only limitation that exists is human willpower, with everyone else deficient compared to them who do nothing because anything at all is too exhausting and imperfect.

Like, it's not hard. Just create a walkable community where people sit out on their porches and talk to each other and listen to street music and watch kids playing. What part of doing this are you not getting? Stop sticking to your dogma and bring this about already. Like what the fuck is your problem? Why are you against basic human decency?
