To be honest, both sides of this have a point. Giuliani is, and has generally always been, an asshole. I'm not going to sit here and ban people for being sad he's on death's door, I'm not going to ask the mods to ban people for not being sad he's fucked, he's a horrible person and has done a lot to hurt a lot of vulnerable people over the years. That said, some users definitely carry the energy and behavior from those threads, where it is totally justified, into pretty much every single topic on the forum and treat their fellow users like absolute garbage for even the most minor of disagreements. These days, it feels like most bans get handed out for people being schmucks to each other over literally nothing.

The most recent example is those stupid-ass CCU threads. There's been a tag that can be turned off for months, we made a subforum that you can turn off with the click of a button, there's literally an ignore threads feature, and yet people charge in and shit on people. We give more options to ignore stuff you don't like or don't want to see than anywhere else and yet, look at how many infractions get piled up in these nothing threads.

My mom used to say this when I would get frustrated with something, "Is it actually affecting you in any way? Is it actually hurting someone?" The idea being, if nobody is being harmed, why am I letting this bother me? Why am I giving it space? Why am I giving it control over me by being frustrated or angry? If someone is being hurt, if someone is being a bigot or a bully or something like that, then frustration is totally justified so long as it's turned into action. If someone says something racist, speak up; if someone is being a bully, step in and help; if someone is being hurt, then you should do something about it; but if none of that is true then why waste your time getting angry or frustrated?

I think a lot of us can take that to heart more, I know I've been trying to, even if I do fail sometimes. There's times when we should get angry or take action, but there's also times when we should feel the emotion, take a breath, ask if it's productive, and then let it moment pass if it isn't. My point is, who cares if people are shitting on Giuliani? But also that we don't need to go into every single thread at 11 and that we can, and maybe should, ignore stuff that makes us angry or frustrated for no good reason. It's not like we don't have the tools to do so? We give everyone more options for that than pretty much anywhere else online, use them.

We see a lot of posts online how our bodies begin to fall apart as soon as we finish the third decade of our life, which honestly has weighed down on me. I'm 33 now, and I'm not in terrible shape or anything, but I'm trying to get really into a consistent workout routine to get into the best shape of my life. I've been chronically ill since 17, and at least half of my 20's were a total wash as far as actually enjoying life was concerned. Combined with lifelong battles with anxiety and depression, and my second suicide attempt last fall, and needless to say I'm beyond ready to feel good about myself and my life finally.

But online discourse would have me believe my shot at life is already over, that I missed it, and that my best days/peak is behind, and I should just start making plans for my funeral or whatever.

But this thread is to say fuck that, it's never too late to start living life and being happy and healthy. Feel free to share your personal journey of not getting into the greatest shape of your life until after you hit the big 3-0. Or hell, anytime after that too. I've seen people get shredded in their 40's and 50's too.

Feel free to brag as much as you want about your success, this is a feel-good thread to be proud about yourself. And if you're like me who is getting into their journey of peak personal fitness, we can get the inspiration we need that it's never too late!!

This happened yesterday, and I was in the frozen veggie aisle. This random older guy walked up to me, and immediately started off with (paraphrasing) "Those Somalis are taking all of our money! And them fucking Mexicans!" He then went off with all of that, and I just kept nodding and saying yep. He even at one point in this rant said something like "Idk if I sound like a jerk, but something has to be done." He surprisingly didn't get into transphobia, but I tried getting out of that ASAP ofcourse. He saw me as a white person, and therefore 'safe' to go off to. These people are just so fucking brain rotted deranged. Not something as common in this part of Illinois, but shows they are still everywhere.

edit-also he sourced BBC for all of this and said they were exposing the "real truth".

Super Humiliating to ask, but being in the start of the transition, should I try finasteride+rogaine to grow my hair back and out?

Would this be a good idea? Or should I somehow just add this to the pile of hair removal to go full on shining bald with maybe tattoos or go with a wig? Also while I'm here, I have serious questions about hair removal. I have a damn beard, plus some chest and upper back hair, plus abdomin, and of course arms and legs.

I need toget rid my beard and all torso and above hair for sure for now. Well by now I mean prioritized. I know the answer, but is there any possible way to get hair removal covered under insurance at all? I'm kind of limited on money and atm on disability (aspergers). I want to get off it though and start a full life with the transition.

Am I totally screwed over and out of luck being on Medicare/Medicaid?
In Illinois for reference. I'm frantically trying to find a therapist psychologist. I also have an appointment at an informed consent Saturday, but they might not even take medicare or medicaid, I can't tell yet. Would I need to find a therapist that says I need to get a prescription? And does that even happen? I'm starting to panic.

Okay. I'm just worried because my first call back from a therapist that specializes with lgbt said that my medicaid would cancel out the medicare or something with them and it screwed someone over one time with bills from that. I'm just worried all of these places I have called will say the same thing.

Need help please. I'm really scared and anxious about what steps to take next
So it's been like 5 months or so since the time I finally came to full acceptance that I'm trans m to f, but it's been something for a long time that has fought to the top of my mind. I'm 28. I don't know the best route for going on HRT, and plus getting electrolysis. And I was looking up....do you need to see a psychologist or therapist to be officially diagnosed for dysphoria for getting the full transitions and surgeries? I'm on disability for aspergers/anxiety. I'm worried they will tell me that it's just that. I know it isn't though, I know that this is myself.

Okay thanks for all the info. I guess finding a therapist seems like the best idea, but I'm nervous about making sure I find the right one. Unless I can find an informed consent. Don't you still need to be with a psychologist for a year though ultimately for transition surgeries?

Okay I'll look into that too then, but I think there are informed consent ones pretty close. So I guess what I plan on then is hopefully to start with there, simultaneously finding the best therapist possible as soon I can so I can just do them parallel.

Also then, the other big thing is with hair removal, but not sure if you know about that.
