Man I hope the payoff is worth it because the buildup has been sweet.
Loved all three seasons of that.
First season was the funniest by far but my fave was the 2nd. Aubrey Plaza

Season 3 has the best scene of the series.
Definitely enjoyed the ending of season 1 and it was pretty funny.
Season 2 was amazing. Much better overall.
Currently 3 episodes in to season 3. Not sure how I feel about it yet, but the characters are definitely pieces of shit enough to make it worth it.
White Lotus session 2 > 1 > 3.
I thought the ending of 3 was too predictable. Still good television, but I wanted more from it after the stellar season 2.

But that Sam Rockwell scene in Season 3 is the best scene in the show so far and the Aussie hotel manager in season 1 is the best character.
They should do a ski chalet season. All the lounging around pools/beaches is getting samey.

Love Seinfeld, enjoyed Curb a lot, could not be less interested in this (I know nothing and didn't watch the video).
I've been watching Frasier (old episodes, won't touch the new stuff). Good show.

Apparently they're filming season 4 in France in the Riviera and the focus is going to be around Cannes. I too think a change of scenery would be great.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Action_(TV_series) wrote:Action is an American dark comedy series about a Hollywood producer named Peter Dragon, who is trying to recover from his last box-office failure. It aired on Fox from September 16 to December 2, 1999. The series was critically praised for its irreverent and sometimes hostile look at Hollywood culture. Thirteen episodes were produced. The show was created by Chris Thompson and the show runner was Don Reo. Future Saturday Night Live cast member Will Forte was the story editor for twelve episodes, and wrote three.
I discovered this is for some strange reason also on Roku:
https://therokuchannel.roku.com/details/4c84603643495e659952be617283e393/action-s1-e1-pilot
Well, okay, I know the actual reason. These streaming services buy giant packages of random ass shit from the production companies so they can have higher numbers of what's on the service. And I'm increasingly having fun finding the odd shit lurking in those.
If it wasn't for the hilarious edgy 90's music, the bleeping and some of the unsubtle gags you'd think Action was at the very least an HBO show from the era rather than something they tried to air on Fox. Arli$$ was during that era. And Larry Sanders. It's obviously not as good as the latter and I've only watched a couple so I won't judge yet against the former but it's alright, I'll probably leave all 13 episodes on while I work on stuff.
Some of the contemporary reviews quoted on Wikipedia are funny:
Quote:Ken Tucker of Entertainment Weekly gave the series a grade of B, saying, "Action shreds Hollywood corporate culture more viciously than current big-screen spoofs like Bowfinger and The Muse. The difference is, Action's acid heartlessness renders it a more artful but ultimately less likable piece of work."[8]
David Zurawik of The Baltimore Sun found the series insulting and the pilot episode in particular to be culturally insensitive.[9] He wondered whether audiences are supposed to identify with or despise Peter Dragon.[9]
This is year after Seinfeld ended so I suppose we can forgive Ken and David for still believing that sitcom protagonists had to be demographic friendly and likeable. (Though they were right in terms of if the show succeeds or not but I read these as comments on the artistic quality.)
In the second episode, the hooker character makes a joke about having Windows 98 to explain her thorough invoice. Just incredible timeless joke.
This needed to be on YouTube as just the scene:
So in one episode Sony's Kevin Butler plays one of the hooker's clients who has a fetish of roleplaying as a housemaid.
Also the show ends with the hooker having to have sex with blatant Weinstein stand-ins to save the movie they're making (because they were fans of when she was a child star) and this breaks her as finally too much and she leaves Hollywood because of it.
Finally reached S8 of GOT. I've watched the 1st ep. I think I might stop there. Those 2 planks joy riding on the dragons reminded me how much worse it gets.

OK guys we've got the big battle coming up. We've been building up to this fight for 8 seasons. Everybody's hyped. It's going to be epic. What should we do?
Dude. I got this. First we'll film it at night. In total darkness. Then we'll cover everything in smoke. We'll jump between characters and hide all their faces. No one will be able to see shit. We'll have the dragons get into a huge fight but cover them in clouds instead of smoke so no one will be able to see shit. Remember that boring wheelchair dude that doesn't do shit? Yeah. Let's have him sit under a tree in one of his trances for 90 minutes. Then we could have that witch chick randomly turn up and set fire to swords for some reason. Finally we could have Arya jump out a tree.
Sir. You are a fucking genius.
Tyrion and Varys S5-S7 -
Hey this Daenerys sounds awesome. She'd be a great leader. She thinks she's the mother of dragons and all she ever talks about is ruling the 7 kingdoms. We should make her the queen.
Tyrion and Varys S8 -
Dude this bitch is crazy. She thinks she's the mother of dragons and all she ever talks about is ruling the 7 kingdoms. We should get rid of her.
Also Jon Snow -
Daenerys -
Please Jon don't tell anyone. If they find out it will destroy us.
Jon -
Don't worry Danny. I promise no one will ever know. It's our secret.
Literally 2 minutes later
Jon -
Hey everybody guess what I found out
going past season 2 is not worth it. same for lost and probably a few other shows.
I think the 7 seasons are good. Great even. S4 is no doubt the best of all. S8 is terrible because the writers tried to speed run the ending. They ruined an entire series build up of characters, plots and battles for no reason. They made the characters do things that were beyond stupid. Like the Night King throwing his spear at the dragon that was flying about instead of at the dragon on the ground in front of him that Danny was on. Or Cersei not killing Tyrion when he was outside the castle. Or not killing Danny's last dragon. Jaime telling Brandon he was a different man in one episode then running back to Cersei in the next. Arya killing the Night King instead of Jon. Danny becoming an evil queen for no reason.
There were a lot of misses as it went on to tell an original story. Season 7 had the episode where they go beyond the wall to collect a wight that was really bad. As bad as anything in season 8. Suppose it was more forgivable when you expect it to lead somewhere. Also how the show was consistent in airing year after year. Then it skips 2018 and the it's almost half the length of old seasons.
I haven't had any urge to rewatch the show.
I did watch the first season of the prequel show, but haven't kept up with it
some shows are only not worth it when you know it leads to a trash end

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is the best GoT show since season 4. Legit good.
House of the Dragon was boring, which is a crime for a show about dragons and wars and regicide.
7 Kingdoms is good. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Never watched House. I had no interest in seeing any more Game stuff when it came out. I might watch it.
House of Dragon season 1 was pretty good. Season 2 was pretty bad. As I understand it, the creative staff changed up and the choices made were shocking. The premise of the show, from how it presented in the lore and in season 1: a family at war for power. Season 2: lesbian domestic abuse.
