Will someone wonder that this sounds a bit convenient that this happens right after the other rape accusations against Israel? For some reason the previous activists didn't claim they were raped.

I think it's very telling when you see the way israeli officials are reacting towards ben gvir. they were not condemning his behavior towards the previous activists. something went wrong enough that countries normally allied with israel are complaining to the extent israel is condemning the treatment of the activists instead of just pretending like nothing happened  

I'll say one thing, if Israel didn't film those activists 24/7 to disprove allegations then they're either idiots or really did some shit.

Probably because the one that did the stunt is an asshole politician, is difficult to ignore when the act is share on video and people are mad that Israel has outright admitted is more political convenient for them that Hormuz is still closed.

At the end of the day, yes, ResetEra is owned by MOBA, but they don't interfere with or influence anything that goes on here. They let staff handle the site in the way we've been handling it for years. What MOBA does with AI is their own business and it doesn't affect us and we aren't being forced to use it in any way

Something is wrong with men. I understand living is harder today but there is something else going wrong when women are still pushing through the headaches with even more issues on their backs with pay inequality, misogyny, etc.

The older black men in my life pressed me to buy a home to build generational wealth because no one sure as shit going to give it to you. Took that to heart in my 20s, bought my home and will give to my daughter once I'm buried. I'm really thinking that actual grown men just have lost proper role models along with their ambition being killed off when they constantly hear whining from influencers.

 
 

(this may be anecdotal), but compared to other generations of men I've observed, Gen-Z men seem to have "given up", and have little drive/ambition.
I'm sure a lot of it is how much more difficult shit is now than 20, 30+ years ago, but seems like that whatever "drive" men had to do things is dying off.

That had never been part of the debate, until far-right idiots started trying to just redefine stuff. Of course you can change your sex. But terfs managed to swindle a bunch of people into believing you can't. Hence, nothing ever makes a reference to a person's current sex, only the marker on their birth certificate, because sex can change, so you need to start making up other rules in order to get away with discrimination. Like, "biological sex" no longer refers to a person's current biological sex, it refers to their oldest observed sex, even if that was wrong.

Which is itself a bit of a trap, because then we end up back at "oh then that's cut and dry, we'll just divide everything based on actual current biological sex", but does that mean a person magically goes from cis to trans only at the moment of medical intervention? That's silly. Obviously they were already trans, otherwise they wouldn't be changing sexes in the first place. And trans people who don't undergo any medical intervention are just as valid, that's why we started using the term transGENDER. Not because you can't change sex, but because biological sex is a myopic and exclusionary way of looking at things.

Yeah, it was arbitrary as about the halfway point as the slow downs I'm pretty sure didn't start happening until past 2000+ pages. I think I may start splitting them based on dates so it's easier to figure out which thread to go into if you're looking for something and you know the year at least. Unless we really start producing pages, maybe two threads a year will work. I had thought of this earlier but didn't do it at the year because the pages were nowhere near enough, but looking for that PoliEra Dossier I saw how much faster and easier it was knowing what thread had the posts around the date.

Actually, they deny that chromosomes have anything to do with sex based on a slight technicality because X and Y chromosomes only match sex in 99.9% of cases. The layman's understanding is wrong, X chromosomes don't really have anything to do with sex, you can have a defective Y chromosome that never triggered the SRY in the womb and thus be an XY woman. (The problem with this argument? If you developed as a male, SRY triggered.) XX is "easier" because it's most people and with no Y you can't be a male. They want to use an infinitely small possibility to throw out the entire thing because it's not accurate 100% of the time. (Even though we can identify every case where it's not accurate. Just read the SRY gene on the Y chromosome. And we know it is accurate for any trans women.)

The main thing they (not Era, but the people they repeat) argue is that primary sex characteristics (gametes, uterus, prostate etc.) have nothing to do with sex because nobody actually looks at that, instead we "determine" sex based off of secondary sexual characteristics (boobs, dicks, etc.) and therefore if you change these you're changing your sex. This is, of course, a massive logical error and beyond that is actually nearly reifying gender. Something they more typically do when they're explaining that women have emotions or whatever misogyny they typically post.

So you notice that we're already two blatant fallacies in and we still haven't demonstrated that you actually can change your sex, which the burden is on in the first place since nobody has any examples of it being done. Our first fallacy equivocates and then uses this equivocation to basically appeal to a possibility that doesn't ever apply to anyone arguing for it. Then we work entirely backwards and use another equivocation to claim that the characteristics are not defined by the sex but are instead our culture imposing the sex on the characteristics. So really, we're four claims in without any demonstration of anything, simply a claim that there's some vagueness (really some minor nuance) and therefore anything is possible. Which itself is an even more massive claim that requires incredible demonstration before we should accept it.

The secondary sexual characteristics claim is arguably the worst because it denies that humans are animals, specifically mammals. Animals know the sex of their partners, so humans must have before "culture" established gender especially late stage capitalist conceptions of gender. Of course, as we know, they like to appeal to the animal kingdom when they can say that some species can change their sex therefore humans can, which is another equivocation on "animal" ignoring that humans are specifically mammals aside from the fact that humans have never changed their sex ever.

There's really two ways to refer to what this is and they're basically the same logical construction. Conclusions first, "science" second. It looks like the Creationists gish gallop and "God of the gaps" argument because it is that. Where it departs from Creationism is that the "God" is themselves, or humanity typically envisioned purely through themselves, and so humanity then has the capacity to change biological reality because it creates reality in the first place. (A claim that itself is never demonstrated.) Which makes it more like Lysenkoism, we have the theory and so we can dictate how science and reality should work. And if we just conform to the theory enough, science and reality will match the theory. (If you notice, more demonstration required that never is.)

The fact that it's "progressive" and claims "science" and it's "bigoted" to not conform hides that it's really a pernicious, quite-religious (and obviously political too), assault on science and even reasoning itself. One reason they react so fast to asking about trans racial or even "I identify as an attack helicopter" is because they don't have any response at all to this argument in either form. Literally everything they claim about sex and gender is far more true about race. And their actual premises and claims would stand just as well for attack helicopters. If biology is entirely within the domain of our belief and will to alter it, then why can't we be attack helicopters? "ONE JOKE" is to make sure you don't actually consider the argument honestly, you want to be a good person, right? Well, dishonesty is required to be good. Maybe try some basic human decency and reject the possibility of truth outside what we collectively decide is true.
