Here's Joanne advocating for trans people to lose their literal identity. My literal identity is not decided by anything the state says.

If there is even an one percent chance of someone being disloyal we have to take it as an absolute certainty. And we have to destroy them.

still crazy to me that this originated in Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice seven years ago and has since slipped into common parlance

I read that the average post on twitter gets half it's views within the first hour, which means even if your lie gets fact-checked you're still able to misinform a lot of people. And considering it's politics if they were on your side to start and it validates preconceived notions, they're probably not going to analyze the claim anway.

A guy who won a Cronkite award for battling disinformation and fake news, in fact, fell for the story about the hospital. An “expert”. Will it lead to a moment of self reflection? How people are susceptible to lies they want to believe? Furthermore, the question of why they so badly wanted to believe 500 people died?
Mainstream news outlets should be better than the kid whose uncle works at Nintendo and the schizophrenic guy always at the bar. Should.

Agree 100%.
This is where mainstream media keeps falling over.
Mainstream journalists are afforded a privileged place in Western democracies because we have expectations that they are going about the work in a diligent and professional manner. They might be right 95% of the time, but that 5% is what causes us to lose faith and allows the online idiots to criticise them so effectively.
Twitter/YouTube idiots and bloggers might be wrong about 95% of the time, but that is the expectation. All it takes is being right 5% of the time and they will be trusted. No one cares because they are not given privileged access to people and information and they don't trade in accuracy, they trade in confirmation bias.
That's why twitter is the worst possible thing for mainstream journalists to use, because in the rush to be first and to feed into your audience's existing opinions, the biggest casualty is accuracy.
Anyway...

Phobia Indoctrination and Trans Communities (totally not a cult)
Quote:There’s a name for what’s going on here—and it’s not ‘trans genocide.’ It’s called phobia indoctrination.
Phobia indoctrination instills irrational fears in members of a high-control group and uses those fears to manipulate members so they won't question the group's beliefs or try to leave.

Gotta give credit here for tying Watchmen to a real world example of “who watches the watchmen?”
Also, under appreciated fact of that Watchmen trailer. The Smashing Pumpkins track is an alternate version made for Batman & Robin.
