Then she did her wheel kick, and you can see in the CG cutscene a fully modeled and clear vagina and 3D modeled labia.

And then you unlock her 3D model after beating the game and you can zoom in clearly for it to be just right there, front and center sticking out of her battlesuit.

I've retired from Resetera but I felt the need to pop up in this thread for a couple of reasons, and I'll tackle this one first.

I think that, while it was pretty obvious the fact that we don't know the future beyond the Christmas special made it pretty obvious that it was being thrown out there to tamp down the rampant negative speculation around what is supposed to be a valuable brand, the idea that they'd rope in RTD's involvement without his foreknowledge is mental beyond belief. For one thing, the BBC isn't going to put out a press release that leaves them open to a fucking law suit for interfering with Russell's schedule without his consent which, let's be clear, announcing him being tied to one more year on Doctor Who was bound to do. For another, I don't see someone with the lingering animosity towards the BBC, like RTD does, just playing along with such a move for the sake of public appearances. If the BBC announced a Christmas special written by him, without discussing it with him, he'd have came down on them harder than a sack of bricks because, again, they'd be getting in the way of potential contracts and work schedules he could be cracking on with that he wanted to do but wasn't offered, or withdrawn, because the BBC unilaterally declared him busy.

What we do know is that Russell at the end of last year said he hadn't even began writing the scripts yet, while also starting to distance his personal legacy from Doctor Who, with him saying that Doctor Who isn't going to feature in his obituary when he passes away. Which is a ridiculous statement on every level, not to mention a drastic change in tone from just a year before. To me, he seemed already checked out and if he really isn't filming anything this year, he's delivered his scripts to let the BBC do with them as they please and washed his hands of involvement going forward.

Which brings me to point 2, and to return to a drum I've beaten very loudly through a news item that seems to have slipped under the radar here; With Russell revealing to The Guardian that Tip Toe features a character named Stephanie, a gender critical friend of Alan Cumming's protagonist and inspired by his own gender critical friends who are "only toxic in the online space," I reiterate that Russell is an increasingly out of touch writer who harms his own progressive ideals, either through his clumsy writing or opening his trap. Doctor Who is better off if he has thrown up his hands and walked away, even with all the loose strands left by his 5 season plan, the Whoniverse project collapsing in on itself and the eleventh hour gambit he threw together by photoshopping Billie Piper's head onto Ncuti Gatwa's shoulders.

And I say this because the fact that RTD can write a drama about the increasingly hostile environment queer people face and then, in a post-supreme court ruling world that segregated trans people from society, claim that gender criticals are lovely people just expressing concerns and can be reasoned with through a lovely in real life chat should serve to underline that he totally misses the point of his own prestige drama, and that he has a pretty flimsy grasp of themes when they don't directly relate to his own personal life experience. Something that I've been putting on blast from the day he said he made the creative decision to have the 13th Doctor's clothes regenerate to protect unready audiences from the sight of The Doctor wearing drag, in probably the one fictional setting in British media most primed to confront audiences with gender non-conforming visuals and storytelling.

And while I'm sure those who still go to bat for RTD will go "well it's not going to be any more trans friendly without him," I should be clear that I don't expect a trans friendly, or even compassionate Doctor Who moving forward under the current BBC. If there is a Doctor Who moving forward, considering the compassionate elements of the show are pretty baked in. But I also firmly believe that his inability to engage with themes beyond a very surface level, meant to cook up rage bait headlines in the tabloid presses more than they were to engage with audiences, is precisely why this era of Doctor Who didn't connect with progressive audiences or marginalised communities it was trying to court.

Russell T Davies is not the daring writer or compelling storyteller people had him pegged as, and it's very evidently all collapsed as a result.

I made the decision to mostly retire for constructive reasons with regards to my career choices in helping others recover from addiction. It's all positive stuff.

I felt driven to pop back from a month of hiding away from era because, quite simply, reading the latest developments surrounding Who has been pretty frustrating. Particularly the tangentially connected, yet none-the-less infuriating comments by RTD about having Gender Critical friends, comments which are entirely disconnected from a reality where I started my week trip being transphobically harassed in the streets of London.

I wrote a bit about it in the UK era social here but I realise I probably should have sounded off in a few more places outside of there, including Doctor Who-era, which had given me the space and the grace to recover and do better despite how nasty I could get when trying to express my heartfelt opinion while still abusing substances.

I mean, Russell's inability to grapple with the trans experience and balancing out his trans advocacy by pandering to the comfort of "Gender Criticals" isn't new. The whole reason he broke 60 years of convention in Doctor Who, and sharply steered away from a moment in british television history uniquely primed for the depiction of gender non-conforming themes and visuals was, in his own words to the press, to avoid discomfort caused by a man in drag and to "protect Jodie Whittaker." When there's a man already wearing her outfit in the exact same episode. Absurd lines of motive that I've been stubbornly putting him on blast for for three and a half years now.

It really doesn't surprise me that he's seemingly centered tip toe, and the media circuit leading into it, around resurgent homophobia, without ever grappling with the fact that said homophobia is a direct result of the gay scene's proximity to an outgroup so effectively demonised by people like his friends that we've been entirely segregated from society in the real world space he says we need to be engaging in to see the lovely side of the GCs.

Telling stories about the rise in homophobic bigotry from the gay perspective is valid. And he may even touch upon the role the trans panic has played in said rise with Tip Toe. But you wouldn't know it from press reviews which highlight Tip Toe as a criticism of homophobia, without a peep about making critics stop and think about the pressures the trans community is facing. He already compromises his advocacy for trans rights in ways he would never compromise depiction of the plight of the gay community by writing sympathetic homophobes, and opening his trap about the validity of the GCs in his friend group is the latest example of that. Which is egregious considering he was promoting a drama where he is angry about these god damn leopards eating his face.

Russell deserves credit for being a writer who managed to break ground with gay representation in drama at a time it was controversial. He deserves credit for making a prestige drama for exploring the damage being forced into the shadows did to the gay community in the 80's. But in the time I've been criticising RTD's handling of trans subject matter, he has been defended with cries of "He can't possibly be ignorant or pandering to transphobes, he's a gay man!" And those attitudes have to stop. Because he has even outright stated now that he's fine with calling bigots his friends, and that means he is not a credible voice for the entirety of the LGBTQ+ community, and certainly not the trans community, at this exceptionally hostile time

I remember on GAF after the season 6 finale of Game of Thrones, someone was extremely pissed Sansa wasn't made Queen of the North, and this specific instance showed the entire show was patriarchal and misogynistic.

At that point in the story, a woman oversaw literally EVERY MAJOR FACTION IN THE SHOW outside of Winterfell and the North. Dorne, The Reach and Highgarden, King's Landing (and by extension, the Lannisters and Casterly Rock), the Iron Islands were all led by women, and the Alexander the Great stand-in was a woman with 3 large dragons and basically now an unstoppable force with all the momentum.

However, as a gay man, I can't lie and say it didn't sting a little to hear the sentence "they want homofascism, they want gay fascism, they want gay techno fascism", particularly the forceful way he said it.

I think you also need to be careful about how you word things -- and that's why "pink fascism" works. Hearing "gay" or "homo" used as part of an insult, even if it's well intentioned, is kinda triggering.

What an ideal medium for clearly communicating information and philosophical beliefs to form a weltanschauung.

I have yet to come across someone who has hundreds of tabs open who is reasonably intelligent. I've been trying to theorize what this behavior demonstrates in regards to an intellectual level but it's clearly some kind of scattershot "knowledge hoarding" that people who have poor research and organization skills use as a replacement for actual learning. Or simply using better methods.

There was this once high level trans "expert" who got ran off Bluesky (they may be back I haven't kept up or anything) for being anti-Semitic for getting a little too real with their anti-Zionism and wanting to eliminate Judaism or something. Long digression I know, but they used to tweet a lot about how many tabs they had open and how it was dragging down their computer and how mutual aid could alleviate this. (No, they can't work you fucking fascist.) We're talking like 300+ tabs easily. Basically what I could discern is that they used them as if they were bookmarks. They fancied themselves an academic (despite not, you know, finishing high school or even college when they went later, don't worry they regularly referred back to being considered a "gifted child" as a replacement) and so would load up all these PDFs and webpages of studies and stuff they could never read correctly, then leave the tab open in case they ever needed to own some TERF. But they also had hundreds of tabs of news stories and tweets that they'd just like come across and leave open in case they needed it? Presumably Hasan is doing something similar. COULD BE CONTENT!!!

Anyway, I find this kind of thing very amusing to observe. It's like when people talk about doing deep dives and it's obvious they didn't even read the entire Wikipedia page. (Or never finished reading the original works of Zionism after making a big deal about how they were reading them.) Or how these people talk about someone's ability to type things into google and look at what comes up. Blueball acting like I spend hours upon hours to do something that took maybe 20 minutes as I looked at something I was looking at anyway. Or the entire genre of YouTube videos that are either someone reading a basic description of the plot of a game/film with a title like "EXPLAINED/HOW THIS CHANGED EVERYTHING" or FIFTY DEEP LORE EASTER EGGS IN THE LATEST TRAILER. I think there's somehow still some people who don't understand how big GTA 6 is gonna be. This is gonna be a moment in pop culture history. Might even be the first time we can say that about the release of a video game. This game is going to dominate the cultural zeitgeist in a way we never really see video games do. This is THE game to avoid releasing next to and not a single soul will dare, no matter how many gamers you think are out there wanting to play other stuff at that time.
