Honestly, it’s always been weird how there’s this random child showing up to rant about the weather. Did the numbers show Al Gore and Leo DiCaprio weren’t getting it done? It’s so off putting I’ve swung around to starting tire fires and throwing balloons filled with crude oil at pigeons.

https://www.newyorker.com/news/dispatch/the-anguished-fallout-from-a-pro-palestinian-letter-at-harvard

Quote:Early on Saturday, October 7th, as Harvard’s campus awoke to news of the Hamas attack on Israel, a Palestinian American student whom I’ll call Yasmeen rushed to her friend’s apartment, still in pajamas, to compose “an emergency statement” on behalf of Palestinian allies on campus. Yasmeen and her friend, who asked to be called Nadia, opened a blank Google document and shared the link in an existing group chat with leaders from about a dozen student organizations. Together, the group began composing a draft. They highlighted lines, added statistics, left comments. They debated how much historical detail to provide about the Palestinian people and the conditions in the Gaza Strip. “It was originally so long,” Yasmeen recalled. “But then we were, like, ‘Cut the stats. Cut the numbers. It has to be punchy.’ ” The final letter began, “We, the undersigned student organizations, hold the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence.” That evening, it was issued on Instagram by the Harvard Graduate Students for Palestine and the Palestine Solidarity Committee (P.S.C.), with signatures from more than thirty other campus organizations.

How far do you have to be removed from reality to not realize that if literally the very first thing you do when you hear about the massacre in Israel to blame Israel and not even express any sympathy for the victims, you have completely lost the plot?

And they still don't understand why people were upset

Quote:I asked whether they understood why so many people had been shocked and hurt by the letter’s failure to express any sympathy for the Israeli men, women, and children who had been murdered barely a day before its release. But they stubbornly resisted this line of thinking. “Our statement was not intended to do that,” Nadia said, but, rather, to address the politics of the region and “the root of the violence.” Anyone who was scandalized by the idea of Israel’s culpability struck her as “deeply misinformed.”

At first I thought the Truck displaying their faces was too much, but honestly, fuck'em. They dug their own hole.

and yet I feel fairly confident they would be able to tell you exactly why "But All Lives Matter" is a bad take towards BLM

They really don't understand how war works.

Yes, they can easily fire you.
They can even draft you if the US fleet parked in front of Israel gets seriously damaged by your freedom fighting buddies from Hamas and Iran.

"And it's not my job to inform them. That emotional labor is more Israeli terrorism."

"Framed by the American government" For what? Why would the American government even be mad at him for bringing back American hostages, unless of course he didn't actually do that...
