What would a ERA ban  do? ERA is the weirdo forum whose Jason Schreier, the Worms guy and Digital Foundry post. The fact that you are the only guys bitching about Stellar Blade should tell you how little you matter.

Unless something major changes they're unlikely to change much. There's been almost no pushback so far and tons of hype and fan art on social media. Essentially no journalists, news agencies, or other developers have even brought up anything about Evie being problematic. We will need to start pressuring them if we want Shift Up to do better

The game is average overall, but the amount of effort behind it is insane and they're a textbook example of why a dev would use AI. The scope behind each of their game updates is insane. They've basically made an unending single-player MMO where the content is, for the most part, a really consistent level of quality and NOT slop.

I saw a lot of talk about this game being a 6/10 that bamboozled a lot of people into playing it just because they were starved for content like this

but then if you look at where the game started compared to where it is now after a few months of updates, some people say it's gained actual points of value on that scale, to 7/10 or even 8/10, really rapid improvement and smoothing over rough edges

and now they're even saying they're going to improve the overall story of the game which would entail new cutscenes/voice recording and all that, which seems unprecedented

I would argue that Helldivers 2 is a poor satire on capitalism and fascism because the fact remains you play as the fascists with the explicit goal and win state of accomplishing further imperialism. The game provides no mechanics or systems with which to rebel against the empire (indeed, the friendly fire in the game provides a hindrance), only increasingly higher stakes against the empire's existence, and it's up to you to come together with all of your other fascists buddies to do whatever it takes to win and continue spreading managed democracy. Ultimately, making fun of something or calling out propaganda in a tongue-in-cheek way does not mean you have successfully critiqued what you're making fun of or written a work that's subversive of the object of mockery.

And that if you're not, it's a failure of the author. Reading/watching/listening/playing/learning/etc. is not a passive enterprise, we maintain agency.
