The problem with the Zimmerman case was that:
1. No witnesses except WHITE Hispanic Zimmerman.
2. His testimony was that he was getting his ass beat by Trayvon.
3. While he had no severe injuries he did have markings and minor ones consistent with being on the ground.

Trayvon told the family member he was on the phone with that he thought a dude was following him, so I imagine Zimmerman was obvious and suspect Trayvon circled and easily got the drop on him. If that was the case, and prosecutors couldn't find any contrary evidence to Zimmerman losing the fight, it would be self-defense even if didn't necessarily escalate to deadly force.

Being "harassed" in a situation you entered and can leave doesn't create any kind of legal self-defense. I don't know the grounds for the murder one charge however, that would indicate they made the case that he took the knife with the intent of doing it and was just waiting for a provocation.

Apparently Texas does not have degrees of murder, so it wasn't "first-degree murder" only murder, they only had to show intent. Considering the parade of witnesses and zero friendly ones this was likely not difficult.

Rep. Foxx: Do you think it's appropriate for boys to sleep in the same room as girls on field trips?

Loudoun Superintendent Aaron Spence: It's appropriate and lawful for transgender students to be able to be treated as their consistently identified gender.

Rep. Onder: Dr. ld biological men be allowed in locker rooms with biologic women or girls?

Spence: Transgender women should be allowed in women's spaces.

Rep. Fine: Dr. Spence, do you use the women's restroom?

Spence: Of course not.

Rep. Fine: Why not?

Spence: Because I would never use a woman's restroom. I'm a male.

Serious talk about bike lanes: i'd be fine with them except they seem to be completely inconsistent in the US.

Randomly a whole car lane transforms into a dedicated bike lane on the other side of an intersection.
Bike lanes at the edge of the road, except when they are mysteriously in the middle of two lanes.
Sometimes not really labled, so just a mysterious skinny unmarked lane that appears and disappears arbitrarily.

And most of all, the issue is that no one is ever using them. I see plenty of cyclists, but they're usually on the sidewalks or in the regular car lanes. So I'm sort of always on tenterhooks that the one daring soul willing to use these fuckass lanes will silently glide into my blind spot on a random tuesday and then I will accidentally splat them while making a left turn...becuase I'm never checking for cyclists, because once again, no one is ever using these lanes.

Imagine trying to work that shit out as a cyclist with drivers borderline trying to kill you. That's why most of us avoid the bike lanes.

Wait a minute. You mean the grown man filming the 14 and 12 year old girls in a park wasn’t the victim. Next you’ll tell me that pregnant nurse wasn’t trying to steal a bicycle.

There's been some people who have gone "oppsie, got that wrong" but it is a strange time where the same people who said "believe women" see a clearly distressed little girl and conclude she was the aggressor

Some cunt tried to run me off the road for overtaking him (no bike lane) once. 40km/h and he pushed me to 20cm off the gutter. Cunt was lucky the lights changed just as we arrived at the next intersection.

Some bloke who threw a bin at cops during one of the recent riots received 2 years for that. Why the hell do they think someone should get away with taking a sledgehammer to a cops back? Huge "but I thought those laws wouldn't apply to me" energy

Also crazy that that one of the jurors from the first trial, the one that mostly ended up with a hung jury and had Polanski celebrating, is just out there protesting for those guys.

That is not an impartial person.

I’m more astonished by the ordering of the places.  Paris, New York, fine no problem.  Then it’s mars and even the moon.  Why does the person consider mars to be a more plausible place to live than the moon?  The moon is obviously closer and we’ve even (allegedly) had humans on the moon in the past. Rage

Mars is especially a bad one because it's theoretically plausible that Morocco gets to it first and conquers it and establishes it as a province just like the US did to the Moon.
