I'm 50 and walked away from the video game industry after getting laid off last year. I now do manual labor in construction and warehouses. In two months you'll be in the best shape of your life. I burn like 2000 calories a shift and my step count always gone over 9 miles after doing a 9 hour shift. Quit the gym because the gains from work is way better. This is one of the things I love about the forum, so many of them are so obviously stupid but they all think they're the vanguard of intellectual thought. So they constantly tell us about things like this.
One of the reasons I'm always looking them up is not because I'm critical of their real lives, I have no complaint for anyone doing most anything really, but just because I'm always so curious about how far the reality departs from the forum persona. The way they act with the things they say raise my suspicions and then I find they're like Neoxon and unemployed or all the "game developers" have never released anything or maybe just on itch or maybe they have literally minutes of gameplay or the "game journalists" don't even produce the slop Imran's wife does. Lack of self-awareness is just one of my favorite bits, a comedic all-timer.

Nep would immediately become uninteresting if she weren't an e-tyrant with an inflated sense of self-worth and bloodthirsty fantasies. It's the massive ego + hypocrisy + lack of self-awareness, which always equals comedy. It's the same reason Neil Breen movies are hilarious and fascinating from a meta perspective or why someone like DarkSydePhil has such a large number of hate-watchers. 

The NeoGAF community's transformation from a premier video game forum 20 years ago into this festering lolcow magnet has in itself been a wild ride. Pretty much from its inception, ResetEra's been a slow-motion car crash of bad decisions, cringe and infighting. BDumbs and the other admins would have people believe the ResetEra haters are all just bigoted neo-Nazi chuds, when really so many are interested in them because they're fucking weird, hypocritical, and drunk on internet janitor power. And now they're fostering this conclave of oddities; of course people are going to gawk and want to tap on the glass.

Most of these people are rich tourist experiencing tourist friendly areas, that is not me, I'm not going to feel shamed for being cynical and not wanting to go the US because I'm trans. I don't feel safe. I know that many Americans are pleasant and nice (you included), but that doesn't change my frustration. When I see Americas issues downplayed as the. US simply being "Not perfect" it's really frustrating.

Came here to say something similar. Those on board are serving in the military during the Trump regime. I think from many people they'll get little sympathy.

I'm going to be frank with you: I don't care about US military personnel who fly B-52 Bombers which have spent the last 70 years committing war crimes around the world. It's disgusting you don't seem to care about those and all the innocent people they have killed. They were just yet again doing it in the Middle East the other day.

I don't want this to happen as I don't like death and because I'd prefer them to be facing condign punishment in front of a proper legal court of human rights. But I'm also not going to be concerned that it has happened. The loss of the plane is an unalloyed good though. One fewer death machine.

The way this country deliberately makes getting healthcare, education and living wages almost impossible to get make the military one of the only means that underprivileged, poverty level families are granted access to them. Not everyone joins the reasons you think. For some it's the only way to afford an education, for others the only way to provide life saving medical care for their family. This is the reality for many minorities like myself who had few if any options.

Grow up and step outside of your privileged, classist takes you feel so necessary to air on a forum for internet brownie points on the smoldering graves of eight Americans. Fuck the imperialism America engages in, but it has nothing to do with the individual lives that join. You realize that's the only way some trans folks (used to be) able afford to be the person they truly are, right? If you have a bone to pick, take it up with the power structures that corrupt this country that MAKE IT so that joining the military is their ONLY option to survive.

Cosy games often fall into colonial tropes (landing on a remote island and harvesting all of its resources, paying no mind to the locals, is a common storyline), but Dave the Diver takes this lazy trope a step further and turns its villagers into unbelievable fools.
