Yep, to me that is the beginning and end of the conversation, I don't give a fuck that some people can be more efficient, how is that more of a priority then having a livable planets and the millions suffering because of it? To be blunt, if it comes down to the Environment or the game industry, it's the former, Entertainment should never come before human life or the planet.

In theory, a couple of those uses are ok in individual instances, but everyone involved in or championing AI bullshit has just been so obnoxious, and the whole enterprise is so environmentally, economically, and culturally destructive, that I think the answer is "nothing" just on principle.

We can worry about nuance once we've come to the point where this shit isn't going to literally erode the foundations of human society.

Each of the things listed is a job to someone, an art form to someone, that can be crafted with human hand. Let humans be creative. You don't need to poison a neighborhood to write an email, brainstorm, make a power point, draw a character.

for me it is nothing. not code, not text to be read, not images, not sound, not anything. if i can observe that anything i see is actually generated by ML and not human my consideration for the person immediately drops - because their consideration for me must be that much lower too, to think that i would either be entertained or tricked into thinking it was something of their own creation. so they are either lying or being inconsiderate.

and if the person use it even without showing it to me, like as an assistant to the development/creative process, they have failed morally and ethically. except in very specific cases of models used in very controlled scenarios such as academic investigation to explode combinatory methods, where the model is something very specific and perhaps developed by the researchers. but to use the LLM services of a large private company is fundamentally immoral - and there is no sufficient mitigation to make it not so.
