Anyway, here's an unrelated photo from an otherwise extremely popular presidential candidate: It's bullshit to call this a "gotcha" or "fucked up question" because Dukakis was too stupid to not dismiss the emotional ploy before reading his memorized talking points:
If you can't answer obvious objections to your position, you're a fucking idiot and anything that happens from you being questioned is your own damn fault. And unlike the nut job who can't even answer the prison abolition question, in the course of four attempts she admits there'd still be prison after prison abolition, Dukakis actually had an answer. He fucked up the "appear human" part.
Also people massively overplay this, and the Willie Horton stuff, because they believe elections work like movie plots. Plus why is anyone on Era defending Dukakis? This is the only good part of Wonder Woman 1984 and it still has stupid CGI:
It's funny to think that if this was more like the first film and Snyder she probably kills those dudes in the early part just from the force she uses.
Of course Jeff also loved Thor 4, another failed sequel that only has one good scene, before eventually he backtracked as popular opinion changed. I don't think his taste really has anything to do with the actual quality of any work. He was trashing The Flash with the rest of them just because it was DCEU, now he's ranking it as legitimately good. You can almost see his rankings reflecting the "appropriate" demographics of the films more than anything else. He's more like a personification of excitedly consume thing and get excited for next thing "but progressive."

Also, Colbert wasn't "fired" or anything. They just didn't renew his contract.
Although even though this isn't Colbert doing a YouTube show and just a random person's channel there would be an irony in that, considering CBS's claim was that too many people were watching clips on YouTube instead of the show and that's why it was losing money.

For those who do not want to spoil themselves, the scene is about non/dubious consent, and the loss/surrender of autonomy. It's allegorical to some bigger spoilers later on in the game, and, recently, has been described by some fans as BDSM coded. I'd really prefer ResetEra didn't try to silence dev's only voices. The official lines are things like this:
Which, in my opinion, is actually gross.
Quote:I don't think it's a problem to have a general post but what i do see critical is posting personal information like full names of affected devs.
To be clear, those are the public posts of the devs. Their posts are linked, it may help get employment (which is why they posted).

The names still have no relevance to the information you want to convey.
If i posted a thread about look how Mr RedbullCola is looking for a job it would also be weird

It's their own posts and profiles which are set to OpenToWork. Many of them have little to no interactivity on their LinkedIn posts. They've set them public and their posts are sharable. By linking them here, it brings visibility which may get them hired.

They're people announcing to the world they've been laid off and are looking for work. Surely boosting their exposure is a positive thing.

I'm sure studios are just itching to search through era to find their new employees.
How about next time you look for a job you tell me and i post your information on a forum?

If a former staff member made a post saying the studio had laid people off, and that was made into a thread, that feels different to me than just saying "hey it seems like a lot of people have left the studio". It's a subtle difference but it's there.
But anyway, I think I actually have less of an issue with the thread itself than the reaction it inevitably brings. Because you just end up with a load of people speculating based on very limited information, and that's the bit that grosses me out when we're talking about real people. Already people are guessing that the studio has closed, which is not what you or the thread have suggested.
I don't know, like I said before I genuinely don't know how I feel about it and can see both sides, I was more just raising it for discussing and staff input.

I get the concern, of course. There's a few posts from people there who have their posts set to private - obviously, I haven't included those.
My view is it's ultimately up to the people posting the messages to chose the distribution. If we didn't talk about things people post on social media here or try to seek permission to post social media posts here first, the forum would be very quiet as that's the basis of a lot of threads.
I will say - there's been about 4 threads speculating about Compulsion Games future here in the past few weeks, all driven by media reports (e.g. one a few weeks ago said everybody had already been laid off - that wasn't true). This is the first time devs have directly, publicly said they're looking for work. In my opinion it seems like a good idea to talk about that, as it's factual information direct from the developers for a change. But ultimately, yep, I'll follow any staff guidance. I'm not super keen on being called a stalker in that thread, because.. it's literally LinkedIn posts where they've tagged Compulsion, it isn't rummaging through bins to find them.

The same video game forum where there are a lot of actual video game devs, ranging from indie to AAA?
It's not weird. Your whataboutism is, though.

With Compulsion, specifically, the narrative from some sections of the internet is that they made a "woke" game and because of that, the studio deserves to go out of business, and people are celebrating these people being out of a job.
Is that happening here? Well no, but it is not necessarily a good thing to spread the names of the people who are losing their job to a wider audience, especially since they are especially vulnerable to harassment and there is absolutely a group waiting to dance on the studio's grave on the internet.
Even here, a place that is generally seen as more sympathetic to devs, has seen posts about how Compulsion and others involved "should have put out good games", "should have put out something more appealing" and other similar sentences that are both disconnected from how being a developer works and does have an uncomfortable amount of dissonance within it if you don't know the poster's intentions.
But yea, in normal situations this would probably be less of a problem, but when the people in the industry being laid off worked on something "woke" or are LGBTQ2S+ or women, you are putting a target on their back and raising their profile to the wider internet, and that can absolutely follow them to wherever they go next.
Food for thought that I hope people keep in mind in the future.

There's an AI tag. Also, there are two separate AI OTs that exist (one positive, one negative). I personally appreciate the new news, new thread threads relating to AI because they serve as PSAs to people on here on which companies (especially gaming ones) are engaging in unethical practices. For example, I'd rather have it be known to all that a developer or publisher is replacing their artists via layoffs in the name of AI and having an individual user filter that out than shoving the entire forum's head in the sand by burying that news in a subforum.
I love the fact that they think they're going to die if they see the letters AI
