So everyone is always angry about anyone on the internet, sometimes understandably so, but since he just got a new episode out, I want to highlight Lewis "Linkara" Lovhaug. He's been on the internet for at least as long as the whole "Guy with the Glasses" crew, except he's a legit cool dude, and opposed to others he always, always was and is very vocal about gay and trans rights, racism and hate in comics (and anywhere, really), women's rights and - given his business - how comics regularly ridicule female characters, and much more.

What I'm saying is he's good people and he's been that for decades, yet he is vastly underrated and underwatched.

Nintendo can once again save gaming. 

With Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo have modern hardware that can support 99% of titles developed across the industry. Great! So do their competitors! However the reality is that Microsoft and Sony have aging systems with higher costs and a new generation on the horizon.

Next generation systems starting at $800 with games and accessories prices also rising will not be successful with continuing higher inflation. The gaming industry cannot sustain itself if the hardware being developed for is not in the hands of consumers. Exclusive titles for next generation systems will be harder to justify than ever before and more than likely will be few and far between. This will be a further handbrake on next generarion growth.

Nintendo Switch 2 is the second best selling system of all time over the course of its first year, it continues to gain momentum and will continue to gain a large and diverse audience of players. Nintendo have set up a development pipeline in which they are able to heavily support the system with exclusive titles, ensuring a successful platform that developers can be confident in. The hardware is relatively easy to develop for and titles can be developed at a lower cost than current and next generation titles.

So keeping the above in mind, it makes sense for third party developers to heavily support the Switch 2 moving forward as the player base is large and will continue to grow, the hardware will support their games and the future on other platforms is uncertain therefore hedging the bets is in their own best interest.

So how does Nintendo save a market of ever increasing prices meaning players being priced out of the console market and an industry looking for a solution? They do it by providing a cheaper alternative.

This is finally where a console only Switch makes sense. Strip out the complexity of a handheld, remove the added cost of a battery, large touch screen, speakers, magnets, fan etc and provide a cheaper entry point to the next decade of games.

Microsoft and Sony cannot do this, there is no alternative for them. Nintendo are the only ones with any possibility to provide a reasonable entry point into modern gaming for the foreseeable future and I believe they will rise to this moment.

It's extremely funny because the "Nintendo is doomed" retards are suddenly getting a load of "Sony is doomed" commentary and are having a very Nintendie reaction.

Absolutely feeds into it. It also forms another part of misogyny where some men don't fully see women as people in the same way they do other men. This ties into viewing women as objects; things to be shown off, have possession of, and gain status from. Which, in turn, also informs beauty standards by virtue of worth being tied to attractiveness, and youth often being held as a prime beauty standard of women by men. To your point, when women aren't viewed as people with complex emotions/thoughts/desires/flaws in the same way men are, then the experience age gives women runs counter to this. Less malleable, less able to be controlled. Here youth also couples with that ability to control. So it's not just about the aesthetics of it, but the way it reinforces both that position of authority and the ways in which insecure men view women as a whole.

It's easy to see this as some moustache twirling villain but these elements seep into everyday misogyny in ways both overt and subtle.

The thing is, for the most part, people want to see Batman/Superman the masses don’t really care about all the other suits, it sucks that they try to push the gender equity by picking the female characters because then people like Era posters think it’s the chuds destroying their favourite films at the box office and then the studios cry about it too not realising that it’s only the ultra nerds who geek out on that character, normal people want to go and watch Batman.
