Probably more to do with the fact that the other 99% of the year it's fucking freezing and wet and miserable
You cannot air con your way out of soft auld cunts
I don't think ive ever actually been inside a house that has air con in england
There are these things called heat pumps that can heat when it's cold (down to -15) and cool when it's hot...
This is a thing in new homes now and they're incentivising people to do it so there'll be more of that in future tbf
I think there are also planning permission things about these even with that in mind

Are mini splits and window/hose units not available? That’s a genuine question. Whenever this is brought up, there’s this impression of central air and ducts and a bulky box in the yard.
These days they even have camping ACs that can run off batteries.

Not really, I've never seen one in a house before. The problem for us is nearly always keeping warm.

This ad has been running non-stop during world cup broadcasts and it's been really irritating me.
Tell me what's wrong with it...
the problem is you're watching commercials

It mentions all the national origins of a bunch of shit except for association football itself?

This Alex guy is awesome.
Quote:Promoting .@Scott_Wiener's manipulative and untruthful statement that deflects Wiener's failure to engage irate #constituents about Israel's #genocide of Palestinians is .@mattdorsey's first response to the ACTUAL violence the trans community survived during the #TransMarch
BTW, credible sources in leadership roles in SF tell me there was "severe lack of coordination" by the .@SFPD throughout the Trans March
"SFPD couldn't even manage the front of the March ... streets like Church weren't even closed off. SFPD wasn't communicating with March leaders & vols"
THOUSANDS of constituents of @mattdorseysf were at the March and subjected to awful police conduct (violence, aggression, escalation, and lack of coordination and communication throughout the March)
Supposedly NO supe is closer to SFPD than @mattdorseysf ... BUT #MAGA MATT CLEARLY DID NOTHING BEFORE DURING OR AFTER THE MARCH TO PROTECT, CARE FOR, OR SERVE HIS CONSTITUENTS OR THE ALL OF OUR LOVELY LIFE AFFIRMING WONDERFUL TRANS NEIGHBORS, FRIENDS, FAM, LOVED ONES FROM ALL OVER SF, CA, THE US, AND WORLD MARCHING YESTERDAY!!
The lack of leadership from .@mattdorsey is as typical as it is #deplorable
Quote:This is the 2 minute & 13 second video of the INTERACTION
There was NO physical threat to Wiener
And as a former campaign staff person, it's curious Wiener had nobody with him. I've also NEVER seen Wiener unattended at a public civic event
Was he trying to get the jeers he received to justify his political tone policing statement?
For a guy who talks shit about wanting to debate, he NEVER engages his constituents who are critical of him in public
He gives people the SILENT TREATMENT (which is an emotionally abusive tactic used by those with more power in a dynamic) ... then weaponizes the reaction to his hostile and DISRESPECTFUL silent treatment
Quote:Wiener instigated this interaction. (Dimitry was very deferential to start)
Scott knows what he's doing when he gives people the Silent Treatment. (It's a favorite of any master manipulator)
He let's people know they aren't worthy of a response, then cries wolf about "hate"
SF knows exactly who Wiener is, but go ahead and tell yourself whatever you need to cope
Quote:.@Scott_Wiener's strategic use of the Silent Treatment is meant to antagonize
It's a non-verbal "fuckyou" to his constituents and everybody affected by his policies
And it's even more hypocritical of Wiener since he just pulled a "debate me coward" publicity stunt against Connie Chan
A leader and someone with emotional maturity could have easily engaged in a conversation with Dimitry as the interaction began ... defusing both Dimitry & the growing number of people who came over
Instead, Scott non-verbally communicated to Dimitry and those who came over that they weren't worth talking to. That's wildly disrespectful of Wiener.
Lastly ... I've NEVER seen Wiener unstaffed at an event like this. And I can't imagine his campaign allowing him to attend without a staffer to take names, give lit, hold a sign, get the candidate water/snack, etc
Seems to me Wiener & the likes of .@JoeArellano decided to antagonize folks as a pretense for their little statement, plus the performative tone policing pronouncement of the .@CASenateDems
Quote:I think .@Scott_Wiener used the .@transmarch to INSTIGATE this interaction
Wiener clearly gives the Silent Treatment (a tactic so often used to intentionally antagonize another person)
The interaction starts deferentially. Nothing prevents Wiener from speaking about his positions. (After all, he claims to reject AIPAC and believe Israel's slaughter & starvation of Palestinians in Gaza is a genocide)
But Wiener opts for an obstinate wall of silence instead.
I think it's a non-verbal "Get Lost" to his constituents & everybody affected by his policies. (All the more hypocritical since he just pulled a "debate me coward" stunt on Connie Chan)
A leader & someone with emotional maturity could have easily engaged in the typical back-and-forth as the interaction began ... defusing both the questioner & the growing number of people who came over
Instead, Scott non-verbally communicated to all that they weren't worth acknowledging. That's WILDLY DISRESPECTFUL on Wiener's part.
Lastly ... I've NEVER seen Wiener unstaffed at an event like this. And I can't imagine his campaign forgetting to assign a staffer to take names, give lit, hold a sign, get the candidate water/snack, etc
Seems to me Wiener & the likes of .@JoeArellano decided to antagonize folks as a pretense for their little statement about intimidation. Remember, accusations by narcissists are confessions
Wiener even got the .@CASenateDems to join in the tone policing of his SF constituents

Quote:Another person who knows nothing about local San Francisco dynamics chiming in as if they have a handle on the situation
The person filming and questioning Wiener did not start off confrontationally, and actually praised Wiener's work for our trans fam
Dimitry is a very good person, but Scott chose to act as if Dimitry didn't exist
Scott knew he would attract ire, and it's telling that first thing on Saturday AM political elites had statements ready to go. Almost like .@JoeArellano had his friends in Sacramento and on the #billionaire Mayor's team lined up
Speaking of rapid response, has the .@calgbt made a statement about the mobilizing 100 cops to stop spray painting vandalism while failing to prevent a car & 2 motorcycles from driving thru the parade?
Don't try to flip it and portray poor, powerless, marginalized folx with no power intimidated one of the most powerful and well-funded political leaders in the biggest, greatest state in the country
He tweets full of hashtags all the time.
Another case of someone importing US talking points and applying them to a country where it makes no sense at all
Seriously, how do these people not notice this themselves? How strange would be if some white guy living in Japan complained about the lack of white teachers? Have people forgotten that immigrating means that you immigrate into a country where people aren't like you?
I've been warning people about the irish for a long time but they won't listen. They all support man united, liverpool or arsenal and the ones you see on the internet have dads as landlords.
They thought Mamdani would legalize fair evasion
By the way, just fascinating how often you find socialist being in favor of fair evasion. Like what is more socialist than public transport where everyone pays their share to keep it going?

Maybe they don't get their 1000 virgins if their followers don't know about their martyrdom?
It would make more sense to keep their trap shut and take the propaganda win from Western useful idiots.

Turns out even when they film themselves firing mortars and send the footage to Al Jazeera people like Ana Kasparian just wont believe it's real
Praise be to Allah
