Playing Diver Dive there is one action that requires you to shake the joystick back and forth real fast. My wrist said "Not today Slayven, and probably not tomorrow". But think god they have an option where you can do QTEs with just a button press. have had an experience where you had to invoke an accessibility option. I don't know the right turn because it isn't a "crutch" and very must a legitimate way of playing. Cause everyone should be able to play the way they they want to. There is no wrong way to play.

Yes there are ways to connect PCs to a TV but there is no one-fits-all device that acts like a console with their ease of use and TV friendly UI/User Experience.
And no the Steam Machine is definitely not that device and never would have been because of it's Linux constraints and immaturity.

For hardcore gamers and enthusiasts (which are the majority of people here engaging in such topics) that's not an argument, but for most of the 300 million console players it's not even an option and never will be. Take a view outside of your own and look at the bigger picture. Articles like these are just a desperate attempt to drive engagement to feed off the current outrage.

It broke during some update and rather than the guy fixing it he made a different one that sucks and the old one just returns errors so I turned it off. You're like the first non-Nintex poster to try to use it in years which is why I've never fixed it.

All the Steam stuff boots into Big Picture Mode, they basically want to make it so you only see the underlying OS if you choose to. It has the browser and chat and everything within that. You can even have plain old Steam on your normal PC do this. Which is how one could, at least in theory, make their own Windows based Steam Machine if Linux really was that constraining. (Valve can't because they can't license Windows.)

Valve could customize SteamOS (which is really Arch with KDE) even more and rip out everything unnecessary to the Linux core and related but they want you to be able to literally use the hardware like a PC if you want and run things outside of Steam. I imagine at some point, someone might fork SteamOS to do this if they haven't already. There's already micro Linux distros and ones without any GUI. You'd probably just to have to find a way to force Steam to restart itself if you try to exit it.

People have complained about how the latest SteamOS made it slightly more difficult to install other storefronts because Valve changed some defaults to make it harder for regular users to mess with the package system. There's no reason they couldn't just lock any non-Steam-approved repositories out if they really wanted to lock things down like a console.

You can also install SteamOS on any machine with an AMD GPU now...so there's really no need to opt for Gabens underpowered and overpriced roundabouts PS5 powered machine...

Relevantly I was interested in the new crop of Steam machines until I saw the price and the "worse than PS5" specs. 

I actually suspect there might exist a market for a Switch-tier-performance Steam Machine. A lot of times when there's some PC exclusive that I really feel butthurt about, it's some fugly lo-fi shit like Cruelty Squad. I would actually enjoy a potato-PC-that-pretends-its-a-console hooked up to my TV for random shit like that.
