Also and I'm not sure whether I should say this because I might count as meta commentary, but I've been feeling ERA has been getting more hostile at discussions of sexualization of women in video games, especially in the past year.

Not just about video games, and not just on Gaming side. Ever since the Supreme Court in the US voted to overturn Roe v. Wade, this place immediately started to become more hostile to any hint of feminism. (Sarcastic tone) Almost as if depriving people of basic human rights makes them, idk, second class citizens in the eyes of the law and then people treat them that way or something like that.

Deathly afraid of how bad it is going to get when most women lose their voting rights because their "married last name doesn't match the name on their birth certificate" which was a major part of the SAVE act, and I'm sure right wingers are still going to manage to get some version of it passed in the future.

I know this is a very US-centric take on a very US-centric forum, but I feel like a rising tide lifts all boats and a lowering tide skins them, if you catch my drift.

I am a trans woman about 2 years into transition and have gotten to the place where I myself have large breasts - one thing I have realized is that having an actual cleavage line is a serious choice and difficult to achieve sometimes, it's not really something that just automatically happens by having big breasts, like you need to of course have something with a V/U neck or décolletage of some sort, and then even then it likely requires a specific bra or push together article of clothing to create it, it's a highly highly artificial thing to create that almost certainly does not exist without exact clothing to achieve it and in many articles of clothing it doesn't even really make sense to have it, like I need a very particular bra for this kind of thing myself lol

I imagine most women already know this kind of thing but I'm just having this kind of body in the last few months and... it's been kind of eye opening to see how almost every woman's design in video games somehow creates the cleavage lines, and how difficult it actually is to create, and I don't think men really understand this, I myself didn't fully grasp this until attempting to create this on my own body

Side note but it's also fucking crazy to see how visible in public you become when you dress to have a cleavage line too, it's like walking around with a spotlight on you at all times and I do not really mean that in a good way, like... Wakanda isn’t real and I doubt the OG Odyssey was historically accurate. I feel this is like Hamilton or another race swapped plays, where people understand that is nowhere accurate and is mostly actors showing off. Netflix Cleopatra decided to sell itself “accurate” retelling of a real person, so is the reason why it sucks much more.

The issue with The Odyssey isn't about using Greek actors or not, it's the level of disrespect shown by taking a fundamentally Greek story and appropriating it with barely a nod towards its origins and the cultural connection to the modern Greek diaspora. 

The Odyssey has been adapted six ways from Sunday, just like all the Greek and Roman classics. No one cares if the Coen Brothers turn it into Oh Brother Where Art Though because it's an adaptation into a different context.

Greek people around the world loved 300. Barely an actor of Greek origin in sight. However, it told a fundamentally Greek story in a way that didn't diminish the participation of Greek people.
