Steam Deck was a niche product that took off. But with that you had a relatively low cost. Even at $750 this thing was too much. $1000+ is ridiculous.
Given how prices are increasing across the board, a Steam Deck 2 probably loses that price benefit.
Xbox price increase again
lmfao
The translucent green one is going be be $1000 isn't it?
Fuck this planet
Seems like Sony has learned their lessons.
GAAS and no physical games. Worst generation. Categorically.
It's not like you'd want to own any of the dogshit they release.
Wolverine looked like mostly cinematic garbage and canned animations. "Behold, an even worse Spider-Man 2"
Love it.
22 minutes of uninterrupted gameplay for the new God of War. It was 20 minutes of unskippable cutscenes because of their retarded one-shot gimmick. Anyways, let me go to the pause menu to change some gear breaking the point of the one-shot gimmick in the first place.
Amazing.
Until Dawn 2 with about as much gameplay as the chapter select on a dvd.
Naughty Dog's Interstellar seems to be dead or in limbo.
Can't wait to not spend money on any of it.
Saros is seemingly the only gameplay focussed game they've released and it looks like a worse Returnal.
Great stuff.
Yeah, i agree. I'm still really enjoying Helldivers 2, but I can't think of the last single player PlayStation game I cared about.

Seems crazy that naughty dogs only game this gen will probably come out right at the end (2027/28?). Granted they are not the only studio this has happened to...
Dont think people would have predicted that in 2020 when the ps5 came out
AAAA or whatever the acronym is simply takes too long to make. I mean even Avatar has finally found a reasonable release schedule
Covid hasn't helped. I distinctly remember just as covid was taking hold properly all the warnings of the effects on games years down the line. But a lot of those teething problems should be sorted now, for businesses that are ready to adapt to home working etc. I think the industry will rebound in a few years but the landscape will obviously be different. People are writing off consoles too early, I can see a PS6 and a Switch 3 being the main show in town in 2035
Back compat for Xbox on PC
Does it matter at this point? Theyre'l be licencing issues and Emulators are pretty great and can play the PS2 port
This is the endgame of a long ago project that started with the One. Microsoft had the explicit goal, and even sent code to community emulators, of creating an Xbox software layer that could read everything back to the first one.
The general assumption I had seen was that titles from the One forward are only limited by Microsoft basically not turning it on. The original and 360 had more issues, but the original was not only the toughest but had the smaller library. If they can force the Xbox games the 360 will be simple. The emulation on xenia is in some ways better than the Xbox emulators despite less time because the original games can do so many weird things and Microsoft didn't have any guidelines for anything and nVidia's hardware is weird and undocumented.
This may be the indication that they've finally cracked it and these could roll out fairly quickly. We know everyone wants to play Blood Wake and Nightcaster in 4K.

Give me Deathrow with the option to dump mp3s into the in-game radio.
Instead of playing the sports, me and a friend' just beat the opposing team to death in coop as "Pirates of the Caribbean.mp3" blares in the background. This would count as a win. Great game.
Cool, the Playstation servers just shit the bed. Can't play any of my digital games.
Loving this sneak peak at the PS6.
