So sad to see in these last few years, the league which I grew up watching from back when I was a little kid, the league that made my childhood worth living, has now been infiltrated by disgusting bigoted swamp creatures who hate every single thing the W stands for.
Keaton was not wrong. Shame on the grifter oxygen thief for being so boring and mediocre on her own that she resorts to making these inflammatory comments even though she has no clue what she's talking about and only cares about lining her pockets. Absolutely disgusting, and the W has always been better than this.

Exactly. This was an orchestrated theatrical production. They talking about how they were just waiting for someone to say something to them. The teenagers made a choice to make their hateful views known. They were knowingly provoking reactions, filming every interaction, hoping people would argue with them (other fans are reporting this who were sitting near them). so they got the reaction they absolutely signed up for as bigots. Teenagers can be bigots and no, bigots shouldn't be welcome.
Do you know anything about the queer community or its history?? LGBTQ+ people have struggled together against this nonsense of people trying to will them out of existence. We aren't going backwards, we're going forwards and you are on the wrong side of history.

It's not a problem at all, in fact I think it's good. Younger kids who don't know what they're talking about is obviously bad, but teenagers are old enough to know, understand, and form their own political positions.
However, if teenagers want to participate in it, they need to also know that shit isn't always sweet and that if you're spewing BS you're going to get called on it. If she doesn't want to get called on it then maybe don't attend a WNBA game wearing inflammatory shirts and carrying inflammatory signs courtside

Conservatives are incapable of addressing the problems of mass shootings because the problem stems directly from the contradictions of a society they champion on a emotional and cultural basis. And now for our feature presentation. Please enjoy Nepenthe suggesting not just organizing strikes at disc manufacturers (lol wat) but also doxxxing and making violent threats in person against Sony executives in your area:

Nepenthe wrote:There's multiple problems with this from an organizational standpoint:
First, what is the percentage of Sony console owners worldwide actually plugged in to the entire scandal to make a simple blackout worth it? What percentage of owners are just households that bought the console for their children? Do they care? How has this controversy penetrated in other major markets like Japan? Is there any coordination with Japanese fans also upset about this? What are the numbers?
Second, how are you going to get the word out on the ground to further raise awareness to boost those numbers? Are you going to have campaigns and protests at conventions, tournaments, speedrun events, etc.? What about campaigns to bolster purchases of multiplatform games on other consoles?
Third, are you in league with people actually in the disc manufacturing industry?! Are you talking to them? Do you know their stories? Are you interested in coordinating strikes at plants? Actual solidarity with the people who physically make the thing you want to keep purchasing would go a very long way to really making Sony pay attention!
So would actually going after Sony directly! Protest at their offices! Protest at their homes! Do you even know the names and residences of Sony leadership in your region? Plenty of direct action you can do, and I'll leave it up to your imagination on what that looks like in other ways.
All in all, the issue with boycotts in the gaming industry is that gaming is one of the ultimate consumer hobbies, and underneath a neoliberal paradigm of living, consumption has become the primary mode of expressing identity and morality, which is stupid. Not buying something in a vacuum, or even coordinating not buying something with thousands of people in a consumer base of millions, will not get you what you want. Getting off your butt to inconvenience and scare the shit out of capitalists in the real world is how you get what you want. The gaming space sorely lacks professional agitators and organizers (as does Western life in general) who have been trained and have become knowledgeable on what it takes to confront capital directly.
So, you know, good luck. Nepenthe wrote:Quote:Unsub from PS+, Buy only physical games if there's something you really want to play on a PlayStation, do not buy DLC unless you absolutely have to, If you have to buy a digital only game then buy it in another ecosystem if possible. If you only have a PlayStation (which is insane to me) then try to hold off on buying digital only game at least until the boycott is over.
This should be the real movement. But I support moves like this too. A real statement would be a decent amount of digital only gamers holding off on purchasing big games in solidarity with the people that are pissed off about what's going on.
The real movement needs to be material actions by an organized unit that either cause enough of economic consequence, a public relations consequence, or consequences that feel personal (ideally all three) that force Sony to address the issue, and these actions should be sustained in perpetuity until the demands are met for the resumption of disc production. You need to get news organizations and moms and pops talking about this. You need the professional gaming community to ban Sony consoles and exclusives from their events. You need to organize protests at these peoples' houses. Because right now, they don't care.

That's not the only post in that thread who seem to think the job of prosecutors prosecuting a murder is to defend the person who was murdered. That there should be a presumption that the accused is allowed to murder someone and the prosecutor is supposed to show otherwise.
