My boss asked me not to destroy his business with the venture capital and is going to offer me a reward for my years of hard work so we can wrap this up.
He said that if I don't do it someone else will anyway. He basically bought off the risk. He asked why I wasn't happy about all the offers. Well I've been part of a small group of rebels fighting against the star destroyers and helping others along the way for years. Now the commander of the star destroyer will target their remaining escape pods and food storages. 1 user liked this post: who is ted danson?

Whats the reward? I got some monopoly money points the other day just by surviving the quarter, up to £230 in gift card spends in 2026 so far just sitting on my arse

I've got no idea what he'll offer. Probably in the 10k range max from his personal crypto savings or whatever.
But if he does that I retain my right to unemployment benefits, which is the most important factor of why I can't just quit without landing another job. Who knows if you get hit by a fatbike or something. Anyway we've come a long way to optimize the government project. Instead of 950 hours, we can do it in 250 with a heavy dose of AI automation. We've more or less created an agentic software factory with langGraph so we only need architects and no developers. We can sell this to 26 government entities so for the overall take that means 26 x 192 = 5 000 000. That's the kind of money that attracts venture capital and that's what the black jew is after to become market leader again. The black jew has offered me: - CEO role - Seniors who could act as CCO, COO, CTO and head of R&D - equal share (20%) - An agentic software factory that is far beyond anything the competition has - Possible government contract that is repeatable 26 times - 1500 a/month to cover costs The venture capitalists have put on the table: - 250 FTE (with 40FTE directly under my control) - Buy & Build of 6 agencies with an experienced CEO and CTO - 150k a year / stock (although unclear how much) - 30 million in revenue (my division has 8 million) - 15% growth target It also has a very cool name as does the venture capital group. I will become part of the venture capital board too. The vibe I get is that they will do the steady 22 million "boring" business as is and I get to use the 8 million and elite remote workers to start my war. Nintex, you're going to hand over the agentic software factory the rebels are building as a gift to the empire don't you? Maybe but I'm wondering if that was the play of the black jew all along because he knows about the offer. I figured he would counter offer but instead he asked how much I needed and then said: "You can make money for yourself or money for someone else, that's your choice". He thinks this is all pre-destined anyway. Quote:Good times at the pub after ran into another former tech CEO he knows the legendary black jew.Let's see if this guy shows up again at my pub tonight. There is a lot of money at stake here, a 30 million business. 2 users liked this post: filler, who is ted danson?

I have an offer to go be a lead dur dur dur. I’ve entirely bullshitted my way into this. As you all know, I do no work at all. But I do worry that I wake up one day and trump has tweeted my job away. So sorry American capitalism I’m taking the new job with more money and less time with decision making yanks.

Had a satchel of soup stock in my kitchen from some point months ago. Got it in my head I want to make soup. Went out and bought a bunch of vegetables and cut them up and made a huge pot of soup. Then I remembered it’s boiling hot outside and why do I want hot soup. I didn’t have enough containers to store all the soup. Some is in an old protein shaker bottle. My fridge is full of soup. Fuck everything.

The black jew used to be a market leader, the business guy was the market leader in advertising. Not to mention the 150+ projects I've done over the past 10 years. Most are referrals. And they had a good point, I can talk about the business guy, the impressive network and connections but I should focus on my own vision and what I want. So if my vision is to blitz the competition for 12 months by taking their clients and best people, run massive ad campaigns with cinematic advertisements and disrupt the market, that's what I should bring to the table. As for the government project the development work is almost complete and we're close to contract signing. They said I should not become part of someone elses comeback story. It was a side gig and it should remain a side gig. Otherwise the same thing will happen as last time with the business guy, he gives up or changes direction and I have to look for a new project. Just as "my" employees have to look for something new or maintain what I've built now that I'm leaving and my boss has no alternative. Anyway had a chat with mr black and told him about the interesting conversations I had and he pressed for details so I told him that his 'acquaintance' was too drunk to say anything meaningful. He went quiet and silent

Here I was with mr. Rogers last week on friday. The market leader of HR software in the Netherlands from 2004 - 2019 when he sold his business. ![]() ![]() I walked them through the Jira board I set-up which is structured to run the entire project from start to finish notice all the Lays bags. There is no bullshitting whatsoever. I was worried my boss was right and I couldn't do this without his help or the team but it has been smooth sailing working with strangers on this using my first time right principle. At this rate we'll finish this thing within a month or so. When I tell people I've been invited to be managing director of a big tech company they see it as a logical progression after completing the SME game and doing all the different corpo projects. But Rogers made a good point he is a former internet troll himself and he says I'm selling myself short as someone who pretends he's just winging it. He was surprised his hunch was correct and I could actually manage a project that's already running and bring order to the chaos. 3 users liked this post: filler, Besticus Maximus, who is ted danson?

did some more background research and I will approach this like the corpo work instead of full tech bro CEO. Just a little more bold and creative than your typical boring corporate sell out but nothing that seems outrageous.
From what I can tell the other leads more or less have the same background. Hired from smaller firms and agencies. Cheaper than poaching existing managing directors from other companies. That's one of the things with mr. rogers, he's trying to rush things like team building and trust. Very impatient overall. 1 user liked this post: who is ted danson?

Somehow started reading thr history of the song “Indian Reservation (The Lament of the Cherokee Reservation Indian)”. Every band that recorded it is a bunch of white guys. They’re complaining about (other) white men taking away their tomahawks and beads made in Japan and calling themselves red men. And apparently the cherokee nation was befuddled by the claim they don’t exist anymore and will return. Good song.

when I played final fantasy 1 as a kid, I thought it was really cool how the best weapon in the game, the Masmune, wasn't some well-known real world legendary sword, it was something new invented just for that world
like yeah there was the Xcalbur, just the Excalibur, which was nice and all, but then there was this new sword, where I wondered what might establish it in lore, some NPC somewhere who might tell me about it and how it got its name, or maybe it was just one of those unanswered mysteries in lore I was disappointed when I learned 2 users liked this post: Polident, Besticus Maximus

Very impatient overall. He's putting pressure on me, his developers are trying to organize a mutiny now that there is progress but he doesn't have any cards. They just want a bigger share of the first gig so they're trying to cut out 2 people. Our work matters more if this turns into an actual business but they just want the easy money as I expected. This is why chilling at the bar and prepping for the job interview(s) was/is the better move. The CEO of one of the biggest tech firms is looking forward to meeting me tommorow to talk about a seat on the board of his company. If I manage to land that I'm set for the next decade career wise.

There’s a window at my gym and I’m doing some dumbbell presses. These two kids kept running up to the window, doing flex poses, and pointing at dumbbells they wanted me to lift. And I’m cold going from 30kg, 40kg, 50kg with minimal rest trying to entertain these random children. And I felt something in my left shoulder and had to drop the 50s after like three reps. They start giving me thumbs downs and booing. I should get a vasectomy.

Rationally it fits and the CEO more or less had 'rational' stamped on his forehead. The CTO just wants to decrease his workload so he can be with his daughter so he's fine as long as I can be the bridge between the developers and the clients and do sales and marketing.
Private equity wants to cash out in a "few" years, integration of the 6 agencies is moving slow, they've just centralized billing 3 years after the merger. They need to find new investors or buy back the shares from their own profits. I have to grow this business unit from 8 million to 10 million so the CTO can focus on the integration of the group. So, background check passed, job interview passed and in consideration for a 150k role. And at no point in the conversation did I think that I wouldn't be able to do the job. The ideas I had to be more bold with marketing with ads in the cinema and such were well received. Also that my biggest sales fuck up I learned from was charging 50% higher than the average rate. We had an interesting talk about where I see the future of apps and software considering AI is swallowing it whole. At that point I explained that if we couldn't train people fast enough I would be realistic and do this the Xbox way and they both nodded approvingly. Apart from spicing up marketing and with the chaos already as big as it is I presented myself as the safe, bureaucratic, strategic and rational choice. In it for the love of the game an interest in technology and a vast network to source new business from. They will evaluate, there is other candidates, etc. etc. I will hear back from the recruiter. But the way we discussed buying the stock personally or with a holding company and what type of employment would fit, I think they are seriously considering to give me this job. |
