Men in women's sports is an absolute albatross of an issue to try and defend, so the easier course is to pretend that Sophie Cunningham and every sane person is saying AFAB trans men middle schoolers should be barred from playing flag football with cis boys (and that nonbinarys should be forced to live in the undercity, obviously).

The easiest way to make this class of "progressive" (aka chuds) believe something is simply state something without evidence that seems like it runs against conventional wisdom and would be this major revelation if true that also exposes some kind of grand conspiracy at work across all of humanity. Men and women are entirely equal in physical capability and the reason there's no women in men's sports is because the men made rules to exclude them to protect the men perfectly fits their preferred world view.
It's the same "secret knowledge revealed" that leads them to believe humans have more than two sexes and this has just been suppressed by men or capitalism or whites or whatever. And how the Zionists control everything with no effort at all.

I'd like to thank everyone who wrote into MPs and/or has spoken out against it. Even if it was in vain it means a lot to see such support.
We'll get through this somehow.
Kunty wrote:Well, this is now in force. I'll echo Uzzy in saying a thank you to everyone who's written to their MPs, spoken out about it and donated to causes both fighting it and helping trans people in the UK. It has meant a lot to see the support, and will continue to in the months and years ahead. Over the past ~7 years we've gone from blog articles of 'concerns' to now being segregated across large sections of public life, having education on us largely removed, and our healthcare outright removed (in the case of trans youth) or under threat (trans adults). Across this time there's been no meaningful action on our actual issues, and access to public healthcare is still gatekept to the tune of decades for a first appointment with a gender clinic. Of course, none of this stops trans people existing, but it will have a significant impact on many of us – increasingly the more marginalised within our community. It will cost lives, the removal of healthcare already has.
To all my trans siblings in the UK – love and hugs to you. We'll continue fighting it, continue being present, won't segregate ourselves willingly, and will eventually see the other side of this. It won't be soon, but it will come. There will be a time where this is all seen for what it is, and the people involved seen for who they are. Until then – stay safe, be kind to yourselves, and take the time you need if it gets too much at any point. To those starting their journey, none of this invalidates who you are. Whatever the headlines say, whatever comes out the mouths of politicians. You are who you know yourselves to be, and deserve a life lived as that person.
Eat shit, you hypocritical gooners

Y'all are so ignorant and anti-science. Racists don't believe people of color are humans, so of course they wouldn't believe women of color are human women. What is a woman of color going to do? She can't prove she's a woman because the white supremacists can simply say she's not because she's not white. This is why the only acceptable system is to accept whatever anyone says. I can't believe I have to explain this to y'all in 2026.

I pose this question to my students at Arizona State University in our course on the history of the Olympic Movement. Every time—every time!—they respond (intuiting from the question that a change took place) that the men and women were split into two separate gender categories, with a men’s competition and a women’s competition.
But this is not what happened next because what happened next is worse. Although mixed-gender shooting was already on the Olympic program, the International Shooting Union, at a meeting in April of 1992, and therefore ahead of the Games, elected to bar women from shooting against men in future events. But instead of holding separate men’s and women’s skeet and trap shooting, the mixed-gender event would become men’s-only.
That this would mean the elimination of participation opportunities for women in skeet and trap did not seem to worry Shooting or Olympic officials. That the defending gold medalist could not defend her gold because her opportunity to shoot skeet had been eliminated must not have been part of the subsequent consideration.
...
Lindsay Parks Pieper, associate professor of history of sport management at the University of Lynchburg and author of the book Sex Testing: Gender Policing in Women’s Sports, has shown that sex testing is a form of gender policing: Social, cultural, and political ideas about femininity and womanhood inevitably always have influenced understandings of who is “woman enough” to compete in the women’s category. But because bodies do not fit neatly into two categories, and biological sex, gender presentation, and sexual orientation influence outsiders’ perspectives of “what makes” a woman, women athletes’ bodies are inevitably surveilled and policed.
The desire to fit bodies into two categories of competition has meant that some women who want to compete in the women’s category are required to take drugs or have surgery to make their bodies conform with sports officials’ ideas of who is fit to compete in the women’s category. Today, women with high testosterone who compete in running events from 400 meters to the mile must have surgery or take hormonal drugs to reduce their testosterone to below 5 nmol/L to become eligible.
Sebastian Coe, the president of World Athletics, the international federation for track and field, has not been shy about his and his organization’s desire to remove these women from the middle-distance events, in what he calls a quest for fairness and acknowledges is at the expense of inclusion. In an interview with Matthew Futterman of The New York Times last month, Coe said, “Accessibility and fair competition are not always compatible, and when they aren’t, fair competition has to be the overriding principle.”
But critics see World Athletics’ conceptualization and practice of “fairness” as discriminatory and harmful. And a team of researchers raised concerns with the “science” behind the World Athletics-sponsored study holding up the new regulations. Surgery and hormonal therapies are unnecessary medical interventions, and for this reason, experts and human rights organizations consider the World Athletics rules to be a violation of human rights.
Additionally, nearly all of the highly public cases of affected women have been African women. Hardly any women have opted to modify their bodies to appease World Athletics. They have chosen to drop down in distance to the 200 meters, like new Olympic silver medalist Namibian Christine Mboma and her countrywoman Beatrice Masilingli, or move up in distance to the 5,000 (and even 10,000) meters, like Burundian Francine Niyonsaba, the 800-meter silver medalist at the Rio 2016 Games.
Much like how Zhang could not defend her Olympic gold in Atlanta in 1996, all three medalists, including Olympic champion Caster Semenya of South Africa, could not compete in Tokyo in the 800 meters without medically altering their bodies to adhere to the new testosterone regulations. Many feel Semenya, the winningest 800-meter runner over the decade leading up to 2019, when the latest regulations kicked in, has been the cause and target of Coe and World Athletics’ campaign. She failed to hit the Olympic qualifying time to compete in the 5,000 meters in Tokyo.
...
While women with high testosterone and transgender women must prove they are “woman enough” to compete in the women’s category, no men — including transgender men — are required to medically alter their bodies to be deemed “man enough” for the men’s category. There is a lot of effort to uphold the binary structure of sports competition categories, and the burden of that effort falls on competitors in the women’s category. Surprised they let something with so many facts even get published in their far-right rag, normally they prefer their readers stay ignorant of the world.
