Fibromyalgia is no joke and I would not wish it on anyone even my worst enemy. This guy might be an edgy asshole but he doesn't deserve to go through that. I won't say I don't have selective empathy, because I didn't care when Charlie Kirk died but I can't say you shouldn't have empathy for bad people. It's just its possible to be so evil, it becomes impossible to extend empathy to you.
Based on the quote here, if this guy has gone that far I think half the planet should also in turn be without empathy and that's too far for me. We should try to be empathetic even when it's a challenge because empathy is a virtue.

To me this is the same as being against the death penalty. Because sending murderers to death is the easy thing to do, it's a self-righteous response. But if we are to say we are above murder, that is is a sin worthy of punishment, I think you need to walk that walk and be against state use of murder as justice. That's not to say that we cannot use lethal force to protect others, killing someone trying to kill you or your family is virtuous.

I'm thinking too much about this. Most of you will just say "fuck him" and never think about this so why should I even bother.

Well the new PM couldn't be bothered to stop segregation coming into force by saying "no" to it. Me and my wife are a lesbian couple who live in a new-ish home. Our sexuality is relevant because our neighbours are Muslim and have made it clear that they have some… hesitancy when it comes to us living together as two women.

Our neighbours house is two bedroom but has the main couple, their young child and the grandparents of that child all living in the one house and as such, they’re constantly stood outside and spilling out of the house which makes sense as it must be tight in there.

Since the grandparents came here to live, they’ve done loads of work on the garden and a part of this has been building a huge decking out into their back garden. The decking is about 4ft off the ground and so when they are stood on it they can see directly over and into our garden. The annoying thing is, at all hours of the day, there seems to be someone always stood on that decking.
They also, for some reason, keep placing their toddler on something so she can look over into our garden. It’s all a bit strange.

The bigger issue now is that my wife in particular has been feeling uncomfortable going outside and sitting in the garden because one of their friends in particular and the granddad just stand on the decking staring at her. When we look back at them (they are ALWAYS staring if we are outside) then they just continue staring - even if we smile at them or say hello, they just continue to stare.

Our fence is 6ft and we can’t make it higher as far as I’m aware without planning permission so I don’t know what our options are.

For further context, they’re on the right hand side of our garden and their house is in line with ours so it’s just that one fence side that’s an issue.

Not sure what to do. Confront? Get a landscaper? Plant something to block their view? I have no idea.

Both of these things are bad and shouldn't be excused or justified at all, Is the joke here the latter is a non-issue? As someone who works in Animal Care, that's kind of messed up to suggest it's a silly thing to get upset about.



I feel like the more apt comparison would be like Cyberpunk 2077 or Witcher 3 where issues like transphobia, sexism, lack of POC with the latter, racism etc is dismissed or attacked as a non-issue but if glitches and bug is what crosses the line for "HARDCORE" gamers. One thing I'll never forget from 2077's launch was the reporter who got harassed and sent death threats because she reported on potential seizure issues, not even criticize the game, just pointing out something that could be an issue for some gamers.

I'm going to be honest, outside of the boob sock look, I don't have much of an issue with Arisa Ogasawara's design. I think she looks pretty neat and like she doesn't seem to be in heels. The idea she's a bride is a bit odd, but given some of the othe designs already in the game, I just get mad at this. Sorry I like her design overall.



I honestly don't get why a laser gun is suddenly a jump the shark thing or treated like a Japan only thing, like the first Ultima game back in the day had phasers, blasters, Tie-Fighters and you going into space in a spaceship to shoot down said Tie-Fighters; and the second game was about travelling the solar system and the third's main enemy was a Computer. Many fantasy settings have had guns or gun-like weapons, why is this suddenly too far? "Oh but Dungeons and Dragons!" doesn't get to dictate fantasy, weapons like Fire Lances, Hand cannons and early guns have been around a lot longer then fantasy games let on.

My blood is biological and that shows female, my DNA I've no idea, there's also a ton of other biological markers I don't even know of that could be it... so I'll go with blood as I know that. Also fuck "biological sex at birth" or whatever it is the NHS is trying to normalise.

The thing that I find most infuriating about it, is that transgender people are well aware that their 'biological sex at birth' doesn't line up with their gender. That's the part that makes us *transgender*. By definition.

Seeing places swap out 'trans man' for 'a biological woman at birth who identifies as a transgender man' when both essentially mean the same thing (though 'identifies as a transgender man' is at best clumsy and quite possibly factually wrong), one is *way more concise* and also manages not to misgender the hypothetical trans man... well it's transparent to me that the point of all this isn't science, or accuracy, it's trying to find a way to misgender us and get away with it.

Because they want to get the dig in, but don't want to be called assholes for doing it.

I know what my biology was at birth. It was pretty much impossible to avoid being painfully aware of it.

But DNA isn't the code you are currently running, it's more like the prompt that was used to generate the code. It's like the architectural drawings of a house, or the blueprints of a machine. If you remodel that house, that doesn't change the original architectural drawings... but those drawings don't prevent modifying that house.

My genes were referenced by my body in the womb when it was originally growing. If you could rewrite the genes of an adult woman and give her the SRY gene... it wouldn't do anything to her. It wouldn't stop her ovaries working. It wouldn't make her start growing a beard. It wouldn't affect her bone density. It wouldn't do anything other than make her test positive for the SRY gene.

There isn't a single cell alive in my body right now, that was present when I was born. Not. One. My anatomy has far more relevance to my biology than my genes do. It is that anatomy that dictates my risk of breast cancer. It is my anatomy that dictates whether or not I have an athletic advantage. It is my anatomy that dictates whether or not I can use a urinal. Not whether or not I have a Y chromosome.

All of this has been an attempt to define sex as something that cannot be changed, because it happened at a set moment in the past. But it cannot be tested for or verified to 100% certainty without a time machine. And it isn't something that you can *see* by looking at people. It is a completely impractical standard, used to overcome *practical realities* that make it inconvenient to be transphobic.
