Taking a step back from the conversation here... I know message board general manager is not some sacrosanct position that requires one to remain unbiased and recuse oneself from all contentious conversations, but it's increasingly off-putting to see someone in leadership here so directly come at users like this when they're expressing their viewpoint in a pretty reasonable way. It makes me reluctant to share my true views on things.

Ok. It's not the disagreement, it's the "what is wrong with you people." It's a super antagonistic way to address someone, veering into ad hominem territory. I feel pretty confident that people talking that way back at you wouldn't fly, but maybe I'm wrong. Kinda doesn't matter - because if I feel that way, other people are feeling that way, and I believe that creates a chilling effect. Maybe it's just me that feels this way, but if not it's not contributive to a healthy, balanced discussion.

As an American: I understand and support the sentiment.

As someone who has lived in Korea for over twenty years: I can't help but think about how non-Korean groups would be treated at a Korea-based awards show.

And is that a problem? Are the Grammy's meant to be an international award? To my knowledge, the Grammys are an American award presented to musicians in the American music industry. Regardless of their ethnicity, there is no doubt that BTS is NOT native to the American music industry. I guess the question is, is there a double standard when it comes to "white" acts. Like, do British bands get the same sort of treatment? And on the other hand, have there been Asian Americans who HAVE been included in the main awards categories?

Like, even if I was the Beatles I wouldn't expect to go to Korea and win "best album" in the Korean industry for 2026 or whatever.

As a lover of music: Does BTS really have any place even remotely near any sort of music awards?

hello all. I'm currently re-reading old 00s Batgirl comics to try to cheer myself up. I've loved superhero comics since I was a kid. I love Cassandra Cain (though Babs and Stephanie are also in my top 10), she is the best Batgirl and my co favourite superhero since I was a kid along with Starfire, who I was introduced to via the 00s Teen Titans cartoon and have loved ever since. Squirrel Girl is just pure joy, Storm, Jubilee and Armor are great and so are Raven, Lilith Clay and Sailor Mercury. It frustrates me when I see people say "women don't like/care about superheroes" because it's simply isn't true.

As such, women of ERA, what do you want from women-led superhero films? If you were given creative control over the adaptation of your favourite superheroine? What would you want?

For myself, I'd make it camp and sincere. I adore the 60s Batman series, I love camp. While I don't mind and enjoy many serious superhero stories, I love the embracing of the absurdity of superheroes with completely sincerity and joy like the original Superman films; it's why characters like Starfire and Squirrel Girl work for me so well. I want a hopeful and optimistic film. That doesn't mean it should shy away from serious topics like depression, social anxieties, death etc, of course not, but I want something that is truly feel good, I think that would do me wonders.

Also... I just want it to be gay, I want it to be an open pride for WLW and Lesbians. Call me cliche or roll your eyes, I don't care, Harley and Ivy are great, but dammit we should have more. Where's my Angela movie co-starring her trans lesbian angel wife dammit!
