Often I will say there are no good billionaires, and often when I say that I like to use Dolly Parton to illustrate it. Had Dolly wanted to be a billionaire it would have been painfully simple for her. But instead, she decided to do good.

I understand this now. Parton is estimated to have given $500 million or more away (through her tax-exempt 501c3) which leaves her personal net worth at merely $650+ million. This also exempts her company which has 11,000 employees and joint-operates with a billionaire family's company.

So she's "good" by simply not owning enough personally to be a billionaire. Unlike, say, Bill Gates, who has given $100 billion with $60 billion of it through his 501c3. If only he had decided to do good instead of not liquidating his shares of Microsoft decades ago, smdh, what a fucking asshole.

Something I've had a bee in my bonnet over for some time are Hasanabi/Hasan Piker threads. Namely, the hands-off approach from moderation only up until the moment the thread has completely boiled over and the topic has to be closed, as we will probably see happen shortly in this thread.



I used to think Hasan discussions on here were impossible, that this is just the nature of things. That changed recently when he became the subject of national discussion. While I'm not gonna say when Hasan came up in the general Politics thread that it was somehow perfect discourse by any means, the usual hallmarks of a Hasan thread, the gish gallop of misconstrued or facetious talking points to derail and drag the thread away from the original topic, people being straight up Islamophobic, or people coming in with blatant alt accounts, none of that has happened in the politics OT, and I'm convinced it's because with moderation present in the Politics thread people acting in bad faith generally stay away.



I report and don't reply to every instance of someone posting in bad faith (or worse, some manner of -phobia) in Hasan threads. I honestly couldn't tell you if any of those reports have ever been actioned over the years. I don't presume to know what the reason is, whether its moderation is simply too busy or because it's Hasan they're more willing to turn a blind eye, but the lack of action, the flooding of bad faith posting, and the closure of the thread is something I could practically set my watch to with Hasan threads at this point.



Islamophobia should be inexcusable everywhere on this site, it shouldn't be allowed to go unactioned simply because it's a Hasan thread. I can't be the only person that has reported this post. Please look into
