I don't necessarily disagree with this. Hasan's dismissal of the Ughyer situation is not the most problematic part of his uncritical support of China. I'd say it was the dismissal of the authoritarian state, the gross inequality mandated by the state and oh, yeah, the historically greatest number of deaths by any regime of its own citizens in human history. The Ughyers shouldn't be singled out, he doesn't care about any victims of the CCP.

His fans won't even defend this, instead they'll try to shift things to be about how America sucks for not being perfect. When Hasan's own stated argument is that America should be worse and more like China on these things.

the whole point of AI is that it can generalize based on concepts and knowledge it wasn't necessarily specifically trained on

it could generate a lion relaxing in the savannah wearing blue jeans and a Korn t-shirt, even though there are no photorealistic lions wearing clothes in its dataset

and if it can clothe things without specific reference, unfortunately it can unclothe them too

even if AI was trained with no pictures of children at all anywhere in the dataset, if it had (for example) pictures of dolls, people could generate imagery of photorealistic "dolls" with all kinds of horrific details that would result in the same kind of thing

All this because I confused AR for Arizona instead of Arkansas. I was trying to create a phone path for work and I thought it was in Hot Springs, Arizona ( which doesn't exist) instead of Hot Springs, Arkansas. So I'm bang my head against the wall on why I'm getting this error so I google it. And the results are all for "best natural hot springs in Arizona " and not the city.

So "naturally" I'm the guy looking for big naturals at work now. I saying it aloud was ..not the best thing I could have done.

It's a funny strategy because the Hasan glazers all think they're way more outsized than they are. They automatically assume that they will be handed control of the Democratic Party even though they have yet to win as many primaries as the already existing Squad has.

AES ran for governor in 2018, he got ~350K votes in the primary, with Hasan's unstoppable support (and nothing else, not the massive online support of the Bernie and progressive movement broadly), he got ~750K in a primary. In a state of 10 million people. AES has a good chance of winning because he's the Democratic candidate, the last midterm Democrat Senate candidate got 2.2 million. But they need the Haley Stevens voters and those Islamophobes who don't understand intersectionality in Detroit that also voted against AES. AES can't alienate them by holding to Hasan, because the Hasan audience aren't Michigan voters.
