Apple invents the NetBook 25 years too late.

Ordered a HiBy R1 from AliExpress. Cost me less than AU$100 which was one of my sticking points with ordering. 

Will post some impressions when it arrives. 

My #1 priority for this thing is a simple interface and good software so I can transfer, sort and play my music collection easily.

HiBy R1 arrived and finally added some music to it.

Initial impressions are positive. Easy drag and drop interface direct to the micro SD card. I just put each album in its own folder and dragged it to the card. Library seems to have picked everything up properly (except the album art when it is more than 1024x1024 pixels).

Sturdy little unit too.

I am happy with my purchase so far.

My iPhone feels like it is about to explode all the time. It gets so hot the screen dims and the battery won’t charge. And it does not coincide when I’m talking about israel, so I don’t think that’s it.

I bought a cheap TCL projector for my bedroom to project on the white walls. Screen is around 100” and it’s not bad quality. Not going to invest in a screen or anything like that. Casual viewing is fine.

But today I hooked up my android handheld to it, put it on game mode and disabled all the extra processing. I’ll preface this by saying all the reviews claimed it was low latency and as good as you’ll get even among high end projectors. It’s much worse than expected. You could count how long from button press to Mario jumping. Maybe it’ll be fun for playing rpgs until you need to dodge 200 lightning bolts in FFX.

I think this thing will be very popular with women, being able to message the group chat while you watch shows or having a bigger screen to show pictures to people.
Samsung is trying to get into that market promoting the Fold8 and Flip8 mostly in Lavender, Pink and Violet. 

The Apple one seems more ergonomic with the rounded corners though. 
Plus the Samsung phones are almost as expensive.

I’ve yet to find the appeal of a foldable phone for my uses, at least compared to the compromises. But at least it’s different? Looking to upgrade to the 18 Pro from whatever model
I have from two to three years ago. They look the same.
