Oh my god this is so fucking stupid. Marvel/DC kill their heroes ALL THE TIME. They revamp their powers ALL THE TIME. It's as regular as the fucking weather, anytime there's an event or a major storyline you're basically guaranteed to get a big splashy death. DC just did a crisis event last year where the entire Justice League died, and another one earlier this year where a bunch of heroes got their powers altered. If anything, Kamala getting a shocking full page spread of her corpse is the surest indicator that she's graduated to the big leagues.

This has been kind of frustrating, to see threads about a very specific aspect of something locked and a message to use the official thread. I get it, like the last time I saw it was a Zelda thread and there were SO MANY Zelda threads on the front page, but I also recognized I could have just ignored those threads. I feel like the best middle ground for these is if it's a question about something in a game like "how do I get to X place", that should of course be in the OT, if it's a broader discussion it doesn't really serve anyone to merge it except for people who aren't using the tools on offer to curate their browsing experience.

So, with what you're talking about the rule is specifically to stop a single brand new game release from totally overtaking literally every other topic on gaming side. There's big difference between that basic housekeeping rule and people refusing to follow a basic rule of the site.

Keep in mind, I had to yell at the PS and MS OTs about this earlier today.

So if you see someone making this sort of post report it and we'll split it off and let them know that's what should be done there.
