Also, how worried are they really about the hostages? it's been 5 weeks already, and the hostages seem barely mentioned, not is there any plan or any attempt to rescue them, not even the US/Europe, they are an afterthought. Like, they do not realize the cease fire is also about them? It seems clear they do not care, which is horrifying, the level the Israel government has sunk to.

The Israeli government doesn't care about the hostages. Netanyahu doesn't care about anything except getting elected again. This war won't stop until he sees his numbers go up.

I have a genuine question that I hope isn't upsetting for anyone. I've been reading a bunch about the protests and everyone is pressuring senators and such to call for a ceasefire. My question is, would a ceasefire actually work? Like if Israel actually did stop bombing (sadly unlikely it seems) has Hamas said anything about holding off counter attacks to allow more aid? Because if a ceasefire were to happen but one side didn't stop it would just start again immediately but potentially even worse. It all kinda feels very performative right now and not actually tangibly helpful for those suffering the worst.

Absolutely agree with you. I'm just thinking if somehow the world convinced Israel to actually ceasefire, if Hamas continued to fire rockets Israel would then use that as justification that they never should have stopped and many countries could flip back around to saying Israel needs to wipe them all out. (Again I hate everyone in charge of making decisions right now, everything sucks and Palestinians are being forced to take the punishment)

A ceasefire would bring some relief in the short term, surely. But really the main concern is that Israel continues with their slow ethnic cleansing rather than the speedrun in Gaza they're doing now. Keep in mind that just this year even before 7/10 they killed almost 200 Palestinians and injured >700 in the West Bank alone, and this was during supposed "peacetime".

I might agree with that, to an extent, if just peacefire is the ends people are advocating for. It would just keep things at the status quo. Ideally it should be a starting point to push for the end of the occupation.

If the IDF retreats out of Gaza, Hamaz can't touch them. Inside Gaza with all the Buildings and rubble Hamas can get and attack, but out in the open of the Gaza Isreal border they would stand no chance. So at most they can use the rockets they have left but that shouldn't be much of a problem for the IDF to handle.

A true ceasefire should also include Israeli aggression in the west bank by settlers and the IDF, but that is a non starter.

If it brings a single extra truck of aid into Gaza then people should absolutely pressure the fuck out of politicians. I'm just scared Israel will go "sure we'll stop when they stop....oh look they didn't stop, we were right time to up the ante"

The last thing I'll add is there is a side quest where a cis man becomes convinced he's a specific famous female actor after spending too much time in said actor's brain dances (CP2077's version of super realistic VR, think the matrix). The man dressing in the actress's skimpy clothes and talking/walking around like her is played for laughs.

I played the game again hoping it was better, and the entire time I was going through that quest, I kept thinking "Is that what they think we are?"
Like, it is possible that wasn't the intention, but it felt targeted, like they were trying to play me and my fellow trans individuals off as jokes while having plausible deniability and I don't like it.
It's really sad that what could've been a good game to me is held down by some really disgusting choices relating to a community I am a part of. At least my Steam account is a Press account so I didn't pay money to play the game, it is just a shame that now, having found myself and escaped some of my horrible worldviews, now realize what CDPR thinks is okay, and just how disgusting and unokay it is. Glad I found myself.

Oh god I suck at it, not to mention it took me till I was like twelve to learn, needless to say I am kinda embarrassed that I really can't do it well.

Every day, I remember just how fucked up the place I live in is, where I can't proudly be a trans lesbian because both things are against the stat theocracy. Like by god, these people pull some of the most bond villain shit possible and my family would sacrifice the dogs if a conservative told them it'd stop the left brainwashing.
I hate feeling like stereotyping the right is easy, but unfortunately they've done well in reinforcing the stereotyping thousandfold.

I've heard things about Signalis too, the idea behind it seems really neat. But yeah, if anyone has any sort of recommendations for games with lesbian protagonists that don't fall into the unfortunate stereotyping of fanservice, that would be great. We deserve more representation where I can think "If only I had that".
On the topic of formal-wear, if there is anything that makes me consider consuming any sort of media, it is finding out they have a female character in a suit. No sort of fanservice or whatever, just a suit.

God forbid someone wants to get some exercise in, or just cares about the environment, or just feels like it that day. For a group that whines their asses off about the LGBTQ+ movement forcing their ideals on people, they seem to not realize (besides the fact that they are horribly wrong about the LGBTQ+ movement being indoctrination) that they've been indoctrinating children since birth into religious organizations, gender roles, and old-fashioned values for a long time. Like ffs, lay off the people that want human rights for people who have been denied them such things for way too long. It's not indoctrination when the people you've suppressed finally speak up following a movement willing to stand by them and support them when you won't

Edit: I was born in a Mormon household, I contrast some of the doctrine in ways that he and my mom didn't like, I sorta outgrew the far-right beliefs they held but to this day I am too scared to tell them how I feel. It's been a defining factor in my incapability to be true to who I am, which is kinda sad. I really didn't want to have a dad who I'd look back on and think about what I wish he could've been. I miss feeling his love as if it was for me, and I know that once I have the means to, it is likely I'll have to cut my immediate family off to be true to myself. To all those with dads you fondly remember, I raise a glass for the great men out there.

I feel really bad for her. I live in an area where I don't know much about the world because I have grown up in a religious viewpoint and only very recently shook it off, and I can almost guarantee that had I not stumbled on this thread and saw that in my fridge or something ,I would've likely had a drink of it knowing none the wiser. It is very realistic that someone could make a mistake like this, I am on the younger side of things, and I practically only know about traditional liquor and some mixes (my father was a non-alcohol alcoholic in that he would find the non-alcohol versions of the stuff and make stuff like Moscow Mules. Haven't touched real alcohol ever) It is likely that as I am now, I would make a similar mistake.

Thrice a week unless I'm feeling otherwise. It's guaranteed on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturdau.

And I realize I didn't think enough about this to realize exactly what they are aiming for... And of course it's people like me
With Utah, any and all forms of contact I can get with others in the LGBTQ+ community, even if it is online, is precious. If the state does work this out, they will whittle down the support platforms for LGBTQ+ people as much as possible.
