I get the feeling he is some steps ahead of the others and realizes that if you declare Europe a diverse and multicultural heaven, it's suddenly not white colonizers who invaded and enslaved people, but a diverse mix of ethnicities and cultures.

I like the parts of the story that the FFXVI demo showed, but it is obvious that it wants to be GameOfThrones/SongOfIceandFire tone wise (or FinalFantasyTactics/VagrantStory if you want to be generous with Square), so one of the key elements to do that is “realism” and verisimilitude. That doesn’t mean they cannot throw black characters or female knights, but the plot really wants to have medieval political intrigue in a very flawed and bleak setting. House of the Dragon can have black nobles riding dragons (and people will still bitch about the wigs), but Targaryen and related houses are the equivalent of “elfs” in the setting; an already out of place faction. What I’m saying is that you need to be careful with this elements or it look like kitsch Disney attempts of drama (see Forspoken).

if you're striving for verisimilitude you might feel inclined to include a muslim-ish middle eastern faction which risks upsetting them

It sounds like this is the new way forward for companies that get harassed and especially in the cases of harassment via MAGA or conservative campaigns. We don't want another Target stock drop or Bud Light losing it's status as the top selling beer in America.

The only question is how do Progressive movements use this to further positive causes. Can we harass for better pay and/or medical coverage? Do we need to trick MAGA and conservative types to do it for us since they are shown to be willing and able to take further steps to accomplish their goals?

I think its similar to the Speedy Gonzales "controversy" in that there are people mad that it uses stereotypes but there are people who like it because it is a form of representation in media and a country where representation for hispanic people is sparse.
Some of the arguments remind me of the issue that Mexican people are shitting on it for not being actually Mexican enough even though its for Mexican Americans and Hispanic Americans. And then there are Hispanic American and Mexican American people shitting on it because it has too many mexican "stereotypes".

Amazingly, WB might have lost less money if they had scrapped the Flash and spent the money to finish and release Batgirl instead.

Have any of these Batgirl movie fans looked at any of the leaked footage or anything? It looks just as shit as WBD said it did. It was supposed to be a straight-to-streaming movie.
