I can't wait to watch southpark!
Quote:Look at polls with controversial topics. Just as an example this happens often. "Should we eat babies?" Poll result is 83% yes eat the babies. Thread is people discussing in detail why eating babies is bad. Now throw likes and dislikes into the mix.

Or the recent southpark stuff. Trans users explaining the show is transphobic and gross, and other folks popping in to say "can't wait to watch southpark!"

Lets shitheels hide behind a button press, doesn't add to discussion, and can easily make marginalized users feel even more unwelcome.

I'd hazard a guess that the reason people speak past the trans lunatics is because most people have them on ignore. Anyone who doesn't is already dead banned.

Edit: The dislike of likes is par for the course for a bunch of people who hate the very idea of democracy and openly beg for an authoritarian government to forcibly take over and ban all discourse that they personally don't like.
Likes / Dislikes would help show what the real silent majority of the website thinks! STOP TRYING TO RUIN DEMOCRACY, B-DUBS!

Rowling is right.

I mean. imagine a non-crazy trans person, someone who just wants to live their life in peace, they don't go around screeching and starting fights like the people of era era

doesn't the fact that they're non-crazy and non-confrontational inherently imply that they would respect natal women, understanding that women have unique needs all their own and deserve spaces for themselves

understanding that for example as a trans person they didn't grow up needing "the talk" about never going anywhere alone where you might get raped, or maintaining a healthy mistrust of some men's motives

knowing that there's absolutely a difference between you and them, and there's nothing wrong with acknowledging that

non-crazy trans people would AGREE with JK Rowling, any that don't ARE era-types

TERF BITCH You're right about that. Thanks for the reality check.

Remember, they said one of their biggest regrets when setting up ERA was not allowing mods to see how users voted on polls.

I feel like we’ve all assumed this is why they have likes turned off, but it’s nice to have confirmation.

Also love the non-inflammatory comparison of associating watching South Park with eating babies.
Look at polls with controversial topics. Just as an example this happens often. "Should all Jews be forcibly deported to Europe?" Poll result is 83% no let people live where they want. Thread is people discussing in detail why deporting people of the wrong ethnicity is essential to progressive praxis. Now throw likes and dislikes into the mix.
Look at polls with controversial topics. Just as an example this happens often. "Should women be allowed to have women-only spaces?" Look at polls with controversial topics. Just as an example this happens often. "Is murder wrong?" Poll result is 83% yes murder is wrong. Thread is people discussing in detail why random chaos is fine and some people need to find out after fucking around. Now throw likes and dislikes into the mix.

Stay safe
Although I think this AI art stuff is probably a very bad thing for ordinary artists it's still hilarious to see Nep Nep's rank hypocrisy on full display.

Quote:Okay, but the whole point of AI art is that you don't actually need any knowledge of any of that to produce content. That's the whole damn selling point. It's "democratized:" That means anyone, no matter how ignorant they are of art theory, can theoretically produce the same quality of work as an actually talented individual.

Quote:However, with AI art, the whole selling point is that any fucking idiot can make professional-looking work, no matter how much knowledge or an actual personal artistic voice they lack. Type words get image. That's literally the point.

Spends years posting fantasy socialism and her vision for a real democracy. The moment she gets a little taste of her utopia where people or "any fucking idiot" can get in on what she does she goes into full on NOT LIKE THAT mode. Spinning out of control like a Karen in a supermarket car park, because finally she's facing real world consequences.

is this?
I'd be pissed if it took me 7 fucking years of tuition fees to graduate college, and some rando using cascadeur or pretty much any procedural bones based animation system can completly outclass me on on both quality and cost too, but then I'd probably have to question my own life choices that I spent 7 years drawing cartoon dogs
also pissed if three generations of your family were coal mine operators and technicians and really good at it too, then some asshole invents wind/solar/nuclear and the government says you have to stop
Trumps
My dad was a welder, my grandad was a miner on both sides and I spend my days plotting to overthrow internet forum tyrants  But that's none of my business...
My grandfather operated a successful horse and carriage company, my grandmother was one of the best phone operators this side of the Mississippi. My dad? Door-to-door encyclopedia salesman. Mother? An elevator operator. And I spent 4 years getting a degree in anime art design.

Fate has not been kind.  maf

Its even stupider though, because traditional 2D animation has been commercially dead for fucking decades now, and even Flash style tweening animations were super dated commercially when 3D became mostly viable in the late 90s.

So its like signing up for a career as a horse and carriage operator 20 years after the Model T rolled off a production line, but then also acting all high and mighty about sitting on a carriage is the 'natural' form of horse riding and how all technology related to the wheel is whats ruining civilisation
Try telling Nepenthe that rappers should play interments or write their own music.
