I'm only 10 minutes in and the trans joke was a troll joke and he was beaming looking for the reaction. They really don't understand Chappelle or comedy really. He's always been witty with the illusion of crass insult comedy. He quit his show because people kept laughing at the illusion part with racism and he didn't like that.

But you know, classic era, run off actual minorities due to weird interpretations, often just reactions to reactions of people that didn't view the actual thing.

It's not that deep. They were told they did something hurtful, and because they think of themselves as good and just (and infallible), they're unable to accept it. Now they're obsessed with proving the people they hurt are actually baddies, which would mean they did nothing wrong.
