That said, solidarity with Hamas is disgusting and they are no freedom fighters. Anyone who does that needs to read up just on the mass rape and brutality of the killings Hamas committed on Oct 7th. You can make a case there is a collective punishment for Israel that is deserved like reparations, but it's certainly isn't what happened on Oct 7th. Influence campaigns exist to attempt to suppress turnout. And they work. The goal is voter suppression and the ends and means the opposition will go to in order to suppress turnout are bottomless. They utilize any and every tool at their disposal to do so. The internet is just the newest tool in their playbook. It's a new tool to accomplish the same goal. Dramatically reduce the voter turnout in core demographics because it's the only way they can conceivably win.

I posted elsewhere here, however it seems people have forgotten that the "fuzzy fruit" hate site forum had people bragging about sowing discord on this site in the lead up to the 2020 election and I'm sure some of them are still around to kick it into gear again as it gets closer.

I remember finding a site with Resetera bans by K*w***rm and thinking, "Wow, this makes it easy to find out who was banned!" Then one day I realized it wasn't there anymore.

Then I found out what K*w***rm was and why the site was gone. Oof. Felt like an idiot.

People citing that they have an issue voting for a candidate on the basis of a wedge issue are not engaging in voter suppression, and honestly it's a little bit insulting considering what voter suppression truly entails to equate the two. Fact is, the majority of people's votes or lack thereof at this point are locked in. No one on Era is swaying anyone else one way or another, and they certainly aren't doing so at the threat of arrest and further disenfranchisement.

It's also once again a sentiment that flies in the face of the mathematical inevitability that eventually a Republican fascist will get in. Frankly, I'm relatively confident Biden will still win despite all the nonsense because- at the very least- Trump will probably be too mired in court cases to hit the campaign trail. But assuming Trump loses again, you have not necessarily quelled the right-wing frothing-at-the-mouth fervor that exists in this country. You've done nothing about the aforementioned online disinformation campaigns because honestly no one has enough of a spine to make serious inroads on regulating social media outlets. Not enough is being done about rampant wealth inequality because Democrats are capitalists. Liberals also are largely incompetent with trying to "coalition build" with poor conservative whites whose interests align with presumed worker rights' goals simply because their bigotry and general white trashiness is so off-putting to them that they'd just rather not be seen in person with them.

So these folks are still gonna be angry as fuck, they're still gonna be contrarian to liberal interests just to be contrarian, they're going to be privy to authoritarianism, and yet they are simultaneously not going to be armed with the tools to understand that it's basically capitalism fucking them over, because again the Democratic Party is capitalist and thus they're already on the backfoot in piercing the heart of this discontent. So, after Biden wins, we're gonna be in this same spot in the next four years where the entire world is at stake. Maybe Trump (hopefully) passes away, but a Republican wins this time regardless.

Once again, what the fuck are we doing to prepare for that inevitability? What is the actual contingency here? Because you can tell me to vote for Dark Brandon all day, but if enough assholes in the Midwest again decide to break, then what? The answer is we're basically fucked because the only plan anyone has is to outvote fascism forever and seemingly buck the math all the time.

It appears the only people who didn't learn anything from 2016 or 2020 is the Democratic party because they are running the same playbook they always do and are expecting a similar result. 2024 should have been a referendum on Roe. Not the economy. And you should not be alienating a huge portion of your voting base and then asking them to get in line by supporting a genocide. Genocide is not a wedge issue. Biden made a lot of promises that for reasons both outside and inside of his control have not come to fruition. No debt forgiveness, no filibuster reform, no voting rights act, prematurely declaring an end to the pandemic and not mailing the rest of the stimulus checks, we still have kids in cages at the border. How many chances are people supposed to give before "the most important election of our lifetime" begins to ring hollow when their material conditions do not improve? How can you look at people in Dearborn, MI who have lost their families to Biden's rubber stamp of the ongoing genocide and tell them to buck up and get in line? To quote James Baldwin, "How many years do you want for your progress"?

I...don't think I ever paid a buck for a slice of pizza. I remember I paid $2.50 for a slice somewhere on the west side of the city but I can't remember where. I just remember I had to wait 25 minutes to even get in the door because the place was INSANELY busy, and the tables in the back were so small they barely had enough room for the plate the slice came on AND the soda. I almost spilled everywhere.

With the easy allies “controversy” I’ve been checking out more Colin Moriarty/LSM content this weekend, I like putting on talk radio shows like that on while grinding in RPGs and what not. Been surprised how benign and overall agreeable he is to the most part. Was curious what this guy did to get on everyone’s bad side and cancelled, turns out it was for this, which also lead to him being one of the first outright banned people on resetera 😂 incredible.
