I'm one of these people. Something I've never shied away from in real life among friends, and I accept that it's very strange. One of my favourite movies is August Undergrounds Mordum and I take comfort in the fact that it's fiction. I have watched a lot of real gore though, and visit places on the internet where I know I'll encounter such videos.

There's no explanation, I just get a bit of a thrill. I suppose similar to the characters in the Hostel movie who feel empowered knowing they've killed someone - for the record I would never want to harm anyone - watching people exert such power and domination with a complete lack of regard for someone elses life, it's compelling to me.

Happy to answer any comments but would appreciate no hostility.

Just because someone doesn't outright mention Cornette, doesn't mean it isn't clear they are a fan.

The average poster in the AEW thread is either "fuck CM punk" or "we don't know the full story, I'm willing to have him back to help AEW". In this thread however there are more "cm punk was right" or "fuck the elite" feeling posts then I can remember ever seeing here.

Again, with Cornette fans they don't even have to admit it to be visible. I have called people out before about being fans without them saying something and then they come out and admit it.

You may feel I'm reading too much I to it or reacting to harshly but my own experience makes me believe I am right and fuck anyone who knowingly supports Cornette or believes he is right about anything

From my understanding, President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation freeing slaves within the Confederate states, but enforcement required the Confederate states joining the Union or the Union armymen advancing deeper into the Confederacy. Two and a half years later, on June 19, 1865, the Union general reached Galveston, TX and announced the freedom of slaves in TX which was the "last" state to be freed (due to it's distance from the Union and time for the army to reach there). [Though reading the Wiki I learned that some slavery in Delaware and Kentucky wasn't ended until Dec 1865 with the 3rd amendment?]

So it's a day celebrating Union subjugation of Confederate Texas and slave liberation of the then-largest state in America?

Feels bizarre to make holidays honoring slave states being made free states, since that progress eventually got undone. It's like celebrating the Spring of Nations.

I generally only care what the women playing the sports feel like. And I can see why they are concerned.


I don't know if this is settled but I'm not an expert on this, jus regurgitating different arguments (with backing studies) I've seen. It generally depends when you start taking hormones. If you've done male puberty and transition at 18-20something its different than starting at 12.


The fairness in sports comes down to different things. It's gonna be like an averages/bell curve issue for one. If we accept more trans women in sports and they start consistently being better than they statistically should be, theres something there that probably warrants a closer look. But... we don't really have enough data to pull from now. And it doesn't help all the stories cropping up are in different sports at different age groups at different levels of competition.

Theres also a debate about where the line is to be considered for the gender you want to play as. Just identifying clearly isn't enough. there need to be medical interventions/testing. Are we expected to do this in high school even?

Like I said, I can see why it feels super shitty for women to get a space for themselves for fair competition and then they see they have to wrestle against a trans women with a more masculine stature. There is something here that inherently FEELS unfair even if the stats don't bear it out. And thats gonna be a thing I think the majority of americans, dems included, feel.

I also want to point out, since this is the politics thread, that it feels insane that trans stuff is such a major political talking point now. How has such a miniscule part of the population become a massive talking point for the GOP? It's gotta feel super shitty that your life is now becoming a political battleground because the GOP has no other policy positions to push.

maybe it's because people have a lot more options now and other games are providing the experience the series used to give, i.e. if you want an RPG with fun party building, gearing and leveling there are better mechanics out there, and if you want shallow, gorgeous fluff there are also plenty more offerings on that front too

Because the last good game was a MMO, FFXIII was hated (had a diversity in the cast, btw) and XV was not what people wanted after so many years. The demographics of Japan changing probably didn’t help. Persona games have way less budget than FF games, so they justify not setting Japan in fire outright (that’s why Atlus/Sega are focusing more and more with global releases). Seems that the only AAA Japanese game that is delaying their global release is Blue Protocol.

Diversity is nice and all but people wanted a a decent story and the series to decide if still wanted to be an RPG or not.
