I wonder how you achieve this. I know its Facebook/Reddit and should take with a grain of salt, but if you ever read the comments on marketing ads from smaller games you will see people roasting the hell out of the graphics. I don't know how you put the genie back in the bottle.

The expectations of playing a game forever + free content updates + high fidelity is a tough needle to thread. For every new GAAS to rise, another one will see a drop in players and a subsequent loss of revenue.

You will even see it here where people say "Oh I only got 200 hours out of this $30 game". Like that is an insane value and an excellent amount of content!

Geoff Keighley has two major problems:

1. His entire livelihood and proximity to fame/celebrities depends on not stepping on any toes. This means he can't call out industry injustice, lest he lose sponsor money and his famous "friends". He is a desperate starfucker who can't bear the thought of losing access to the Timothee Chalamets of the world. If he shit-talks sony, he loses sony trailers at TGA. He's fully compromised.

2. He is a political centrist, the most cowardly type of man. He still regularly likes tweets from Elon Musk, Linda Yaccarino, Ricky Gervais etc. This is the other reason he doesn't take a stand for things: He does not care. He stans for cruel and hateful people because they are rich and famous and he might be able to draft off that fame.

Like, it's really truly not that hard to imagine even a minor and inoffensive way he could have supported developers during TGA.

A 15 second segment where he says "The games we love are made by talented and hard-working people. When these amazing creators are facing hardships, they can find help at [insertcharity here]. Please visit layoffcharity.biz to support the humans that bring us so much joy."

All these companies over invested and hired people to produce shit games that no one wants and the market is correcting that. These projects that no one is willing to pay for and subsequently cancelled were being staffed by people who are no longer needed. Therefore, those people are being paid redundancies and these companies are restructuring to ensure they focus on projects that people are willing to pay for so that they're sustainable into the future.
