It's not enough. It's not even close to enough. The moral thing to do is to have been demanding a ceasefire, referring to it as what it is (a genocide) and, you know, not funding the genocide.



Your entire argument seems to be made under the false idea that there is equal blame for the lack of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, as if they both have the same amount of power in this situation. They don't.

The ones with the power are the ones who are bombing every single day and who have murdered 30,000 innocent people. The ones who previously murdered 6,000 people in the 10+ years prior to October 7.

They do not want a ceasefire because they are using the attack on October 7 as an excuse for genocide. Because they know the world's most powerful governments will let them get away with it and fund it, as we are doing.

Sexist designs being part of Vanillaware's DNA isn't an excuse to not call them out for it. And this is a much wider issue with game reviews than just this game.

The point is they aren't gonna change if even you do because they like their characters being a little sexy. They aren't stop just to please people that don't. VW games are well liked inspite of their fanservice because their are genuinely solid to phenomenal experiences that trump it.

Anecdotal and only tangentially related, but I was watching a random Helldivers 2 YouTube video on, like, the best primary weapons or something when halfway through, out of nowhere, the YouTuber makes some dig at Anita Sarkeesian being the worst thing to happen to gaming. I stopped watching instantly, unliked the video, removed from watch history, "don't recommend channel", etc. (I shudder to think what my algorithm was cooking up in my recommends before all that.)

I know we're in the midst of a burgeoning GamerGate 2.0 (well, more like 1.5) so I shouldn't be surprised, but it's just so pathetic that right wing misogynist creeps are out there building YouTube careers off this blatantly antifascist game by embracing its satirical symbols as genuine and using their channels to peddle the same tired decade-old talking points. Like, imagine being so lost in the sauce that you can't make a single unrelated game tutorial video without proudly broadcasting a pro-GG non-sequitur.

This ban, quite frankly, is bullshit. The moderation here lately has been all over the place and I'm sure I'll get in trouble for pointing it out. Its plain as day that some moderators specifically have a very clear bias and are waiting to pull the trigger on anyone they can remotely interpret negatively to justify a ban.

I don't even agree with some of the posts, but holy shit, can people not share their perspective as long as it isn't supporting atrocities? There has to be some margin of discourse that's allowed where people can disagree and debate without it just being banned. I know I've personally disengaged most threads as it's very obvious that certain mods will ban anyone they can interpret negatively with zero allowance for discourse.

I can safely assume we've lost here the plot when we have mods who are defending hamas (and I imagine many of us know exactly who those mods are). I'd hope there would eventually be a moment where they'd grow up and realize the world is way more nuanced than "America bad, therefore anyone who hates them is good", but it's pretty apparent that's not going to happen.

It wouldn't surprise me if this forum just ended up on a watch list for antisemitism some day, with how things are going.

Not sure I feel confident with that. I've reported people posting that Israel should not exist and needs to go away. Absolute silence and no real action from mods. Silence in the community thread too - completely ignored. A temp threadban in an already locked thread that was never reopened anyway.

And when you contrast that with people catching significant bans for simply posting actual factual information, it becomes clear that the admin/mods must be good with the sentiments of wanting Israel to cease to exist while not wanting any comments or nuance on anything else to the contrary.
