It's an unfortunate sexual attraction for some. It's just the target of their desires obviously cannot give consent. I really feel bad for them. Obviously it doesn't permit them to act in their urges.

I feel like false child porn, I.e. animated in some fashion or with actors who are 18 but look younger should be supported in such cases.

Chemical castration is also sometimes I feel should be readily available but I'm not clear on any side effects.

It's all based on a simple narcissism rather than any kind of ideology or political philosophy. You just emotionally assert and everyone else is therefore bound to do as you say. This doesn't get enforced by cops, stuff just happens because you said so. Scarcity? Physical impossibility? Sorry, it's not my job to educate you how to enact my wishes perfectly.

They get traction within the broader left because it has spent a century mainlining some of the world's stupidest ideologies into its thought. Not just ones that are anti-democratic, illiberal, etc. but ones that outright reject the use of reason, science, evidence, etc.

I mean, she did distance herself in 2020 and referring to Rowling's views as being fascist in nature was beyond how most cis people were willing to put it. It still is.

True, I had never seen her 2020 stance, and at the time it was more progressive than most. Just after seeing the 2022 articles, I don't really give her the benefit of the doubt.

No sweat, I'm probably just tired and misread the tone. My headmate Bridie (she's emotionally 6ish) reads books for about that age range because with our adult brain she can get through chapter books a bit too quickly, though she prefers magic stuff and girls historical fiction (stuff like American Girl). Stuff like Goosebumps could be good, and she just read a book called Willodeen which is a kind of environmentalist thing, though that's not really an adventure. The I Survived stuff could be good or maybe the My name is America books? She's also into a superhero series called Sky Dragon but that's by an AUssie writer so I dunno if you can get those in America. Maybe kid's mystery books like The Hardy Boys or the Famous Five could be places to look too? I know those are old but they still kind of hold up. You may also be able to find Doctor Who novels which are written at about that age range and are usually very fun. If you're in the UK the local library might have some to try him out with
