User Banned (1 month): misrepresenting prior ban and moderation, platform warring, history of platform warring

Yeah, I got permabanned from the ABK thread so it's frustrating to see all those threads closed down and merged into that hell-hole where I can't engage in any discussion (not that I posted very much in the ABK thread before the ban). Feels more like a forum ban, to be honest.

Hard agree, the mods being so trigger happy with bans from that forum makes it impossible to engage in discussion there.
You disagree, you get swarmed, you get banned. No appeals, you filthy fanboy.

It's a very bad look for the forum that what is a pretty cut and dry anti-trust issue has been functionally astroturfed by one side.
I end up having to go elsewhere to even find reliable news.

I got banned for ‘concerned trolling’ for statements saying that we should wait before we judge because I was falsely accused like this too - that’s not cool.

That happens here a lot.

It’s infuriating a little because it’s alright to attack a person, call them human scum before the whole story is told and judged.

This has been the way that community operated whenever someone public's been accused of something since forever. Why whine about it now? I can't count the number of times someone accused someone else of something on a social media post and GAF/ERA ran with it without a second thought. Anyone that dared say "I'll wait for evidence" or express anything other that full throated belief of the initial accusation were quickly dogpiled and banned for "dismissing concerns". That has been the culture since ERA began, hell even back during the GAF days

Only now when their new, favorite MCU star is in this situation they love to jump to conclusions on when they suddenly re-discover the concept of "waiting to hear all the facts." And I bet you the same people crying now about waiting for the evidence were happy participants in past online mobs of others based solely on a single accusing social media post.

And then there was the countercorrection for Depp v. Heard where every prominent member was noticeably absent from the threads because the staff had dictated you weren't allowed to believe her which put them at odds against all their Twitter heroes who think Johnny Depp was part of the Gamergate/Trump/fascist plot. Even though it was only proven, in a white supremacist court, that Amber Heard was a liar not that Depp was a pure saintly abuse victim.

The cops over there constantly talk about how powerless they are and how unable they are to do anything like simple tasks, but when it comes to clamping down with force on the wrong (or mistaken) expressions they act swiftly and in mass while making sure that everybody sees it.

it's finally happened. the sony fanboys are convinced the mods have it out for them, and they -i can't believe this is a direct quote- "aren't welcome on the forum any more."

large swaths of the nintendo and xbox fanbase straight up made their own forums, and yall can't handle being banned from a single thread, after you proved that you couldn't engage in decent conversation. the ps brand is way more popular, so it makes sense that there'd be more ppl who are fans of the platform on any given site, but apparently that isn't enough.

and this is from a thread whose most vocal posters continue to be exempt from the rules. angie? can post every rumor that shows up on twitter and staff laughs it off as they lock yet another thread. shillninja? bumps the ot or makes a thread whenever someone who made a rock texture in god of war takes a shit.

also, if you want a hint as to why that acquisition thread has been treated the way it has, definitely dont look at why ex-mod windrunner got silently banned in there for asking dubs how his portfolio is doing. a couple pages of people asking "hey, why were they banned?" with no response. my guess is that her most recent "moderation has betrayed the ideals of why the site was founded" hit a bit too close to home.

The reason it doesn't count is because they know we mean it when we call them idiots and they know nobody over there really means it when they call each other racists, bigots, fascists, rape apologists, active contributors to an ongoing genocide, etc. because it's all bad faith petty politics. Their outright goal is fomenting constant conflict for an endless war of all against all so "it's all in the game" of trying to achieve meaningless power on a "video game" forum being sold by Swedish capitalists to ignorant investors as if it's a subprime tranche.
