Everything I’ve read about the Scotland thing seems absurd. Not only the policy itself. The people behind it, how they came into power, what they advocate, the issues they focus on. And none of the people in Scotland seems cool with any of it.

the sweet baby inc defense has been insane when you break it down and realize how the actual event went down vs. how it's been described in "journalism"

it wouldn't have taken off like it did if employees of the company hadn't gone after this poor random dude and tried to get his account banned/gaming licenses revoked, possibly losing him thousands of dollars and years of achievements, just because he essentially copied a list from their site and pasted it at steam

Mindblown

and they scream "harassment" and offer no proof of any of it

they claim it's 4chan and kiwifarms under the veneer of a sanitized steam group and offer no proof of any of it

is it harassment to simply talk about an entity on a random site where you don't actually pursue them or message them in any way? is a boycott now harassment?

it's fucking slimy and enraging to watch the narrative develop in real time

Plausible deniability. They put up a list of targets knowing all their fellow chuds will know what to do. We know exactly they want and how they think. You're falling for their obvious lies when this is a blatant murder list for incel stochastic terrorists.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-04-04/alleged-bestiality-references-renmark-high-school-presentation/103653438

Quote:
  • Year 9 girls at Renmark High School say they were given a presentation on "respectful relationships" that included references to bestiality.
  • The ABC understands a teacher was not present for the presentation, which was delivered by a "third-party" facilitated by Headspace Berri.
  • What's next? The education department and the school say the matter is being investigated.

The South Australian Department for Education is investigating a presentation delivered to year 9 girls in a regional high school that allegedly referenced bestiality as being accepted by the LGBTQIA+ community.

Female students said teachers at Renmark High School told them to leave their lessons and attend a presentation in a separate classroom.

Students who attended the presentation on March 22 say two staff from the Headspace centre in the neighbouring town of Berri introduced a "third-party" presenter who facilitated an hour-long presentation focused on relationships.

Parents said they were not notified about the presentation, nor was it consented to.

Students said they were left unsupervised for the duration of the presentation.

Student Courtney White, 14, said she felt confused and blindsided by the presentation.

"We had a teacher that told us to grab a chair and sit in front of the board, and then the Headspace people came in and then [the teacher] left, so then we're sitting in front of a board alone with no teachers, just the Headspace people," she said.

"The first slide of the PowerPoint on the board was 'You can see queerly now' and 'No point hiding.'"

Fourteen-year-old Emelia Wundenberg said the presenter was graphic when referencing their own sexual preferences and spoke in sexually explicit terms about growing up and being confused about whether they idolised people of the same gender or wanted to be intimate with them.

Students say they were then given an explanation of the initialism LGBTQIA+, with each word and its meaning displayed on the screen.

"There was a slide for what the 'plus' means, and they just started randomly saying words that no-one knew, like bestiality," Emelia said.

"It was on the board when they were showing what the 'plus' meant."

The students said bestiality was then explained in detail and the presenter seemed to imply it was something practised by people who identified as LGBTQIA+.

"They said [the queer community] just accepts all of it, even though … isn't it illegal?" Emelia said.

As the talk went on multiple girls, including Courtney, began to feel uncomfortable and asked to leave the classroom to "go to the bathroom".

"We're all just sitting there like, 'What the hell? What are we doing here? Why are we learning about animals having sex with humans?'" she said.

"It was really disgusting, it was really uncomfortable."

Emelia said many of those who asked to leave the classroom did not return.

When the ABC sought comment from the presenter a response was sent on the person's behalf asking that reporters refrained from reaching out or naming them in its coverage.

There's more in the article.

Fucking annoyed that the ABC complied with the request not to contact or name the presenter. It's relevant information.

Nowadays “woke” is a rebranding of PC/political correctness from the 80s and 90s. Originally it was used in borderline conspiracy sense by the black community. Just the “wake up, sheeple” thing conspiracy theorists do when they tell you about lizard people running the new world order. But grammatically convoluted. So “stay woke”, as in “awake” and perceptive to alternative facts.

It’s stupid, actually. Similar thing happened with DEI. Where it’s a term coined by the left, use derogatorily by the right, and now the left also see it as a derogatory term. Whether it’s seen as the right having the power to change language, or the left playing victim, that’s up to interpretation.

Fun article about how intersectionality is not really working

Quote:A joke you hear a lot is that, in Amherst, only the “H” is silent. It’s a town known for raucous debate and lefty political infighting. Still, even by these disputatious standards, the arguments that have been carrying on around Amherst Regional Middle School, or arms, have been vociferous. How and when they started depends on whom you ask, but they broke into wider public view last May, when Amherst’s high-school newspaper, the Graphic, published a five-thousand-word article headlined “ ‘It’s Life or Death’: Failure to Protect Trans Kids at arms a Systemic Problem.” The piece anonymously quoted several trans and gender-nonconforming students, who recounted numerous incidents of bullying and harassment, harmful encounters with guidance counsellors, and fruitless complaints to administrators. Among the article’s striking details was that, at a prayer meeting at school, a guidance counsellor reportedly said, “In the name of Jesus, we bind that LGBTQ gay demon that wants to confuse our children.” (The counsellor later denied making this comment.) That same staffer, the piece alleged, handed out chocolate crucifixes to students.

Quote:An uncomfortable fact was that most of the concerned parents were white and the two counsellors under scrutiny were not: one of them, Hector Santos, is Latino, and the other, Delinda Dykes, is Black. Cunningham, who is Black, was the district’s head of diversity, equity, and H.R.; Morris, the superintendent, is white. At the school-committee meeting, which lasted nearly six hours, one of the few people who spoke in Cunningham’s defense was her son, who had worked at arms as a student-support specialist. “For a prime example of how women of color get treated in leadership positions,” he told the crowd, “I say look no further than Amherst public schools.” The troubles at arms, he insisted, were “not about the L.G.B.T.Q.+ situation,” but, rather, the product of an unusually combative teachers’ union and ordinary racism.

I know right?

Like, how the fuck is Pauline Hanson looking sane these days?

This story for instance is another one that just boggles the mind:

I know the publican and I stay at that hotel a few times a year when I go hunting in the area.

There has been no consultation with the residents at all.

I just want to point out, especially because so many progressives don't know this and make it clear when they lecture people about it, that it actually goes back much further. It predates the 1940's and was originally just about Black people just realizing that social position is not fixed and therefore not inherently justified. So Blacks should be "woke" to not making eye contact with white women or whatever being racist practice dictating custom rather than accepting that's just how it be. This was necessary because dominant narratives, especially those by progressives of the era, said that these positions were fixed and were justified.

The modern usage much more tracks with what you say because so much of the left has been informed by conspiracy theories over the 20th Century, most notably all of Marxism.

This is not libertarianism, libertarianism has never claimed this either historically or recently. Not even Objectivism claims this. Libertarianism is about consent so from that perspective people should be assumed to be "atomized" individuals and not property of some larger collective which can treat them as it wishes. In that sense, yes, the default should be you do not infringe upon them without their consent, this does not mean you should never do anything for anyone and ignore everyone else. That's the autistic obsessive sense of consent we have from "progressives" who have been trying for like a century to manipulate consent into allowing them to do whatever they want to you while making to criminal for you to refuse or do what you want to do. It's not the traditional liberal concept that libertarianism derives from, in many respects libertarianism is really just liberalism without blind spots.

edit: derp of course, I could have just looked:
