Rings of Power had two main taking points when it launched:

1. Its apparent woke agenda to multiculturalise Tolkien's work
   
2. Its perceived failings regarding quality compared to other adaptations of Tolkien's work
   

Of course if you're going to search for Rings of Power videos on YouTube, it's going to give you recommendations for the most common discussion topics at that point in time.

Well, "The Witcher" Season 3 by Netflix actually launched this past week. At least, the first half of the season that is.

Was it a good strategy by Netflix?

As it seems currently, repercussion appears to be low. Lower than previous seasons, that at least trended for quite some days. In a way, it was expected, as Henry Cavill - seen as embodiment of Geralt by some - already announced is leaving the series after this third stint.

This also may represent a risk for the series, as we know, Netflix is known for not being too condescending with high budget productions that do not offer them returns for the investment. Current audience score is the lowest of all seasons and critics score did fall a bit from S2 (still, should wait part 2 for a "clearer" picture, in this case).

I was four years older than my ex. My current partner is two years older than me (and my play partner/FWB was literally born a day before I was).

Between my relationships and dating, I've found that year differences in terms of when you did/didn't graduate from college (if you even went to college at all), and year differences between when you moved out from living with your parents (if you ever did) are more significant than age differences if both people are in their 20s or early 30s (which has been the case for everything for me so far). There were times when I felt more ahead of my ex in life, but that was because he dropped out of high school the first time and then finished it when he was like 20 at an adult continuation school, so when I first met him he was technically not far removed from having graduated HS. I graduated college a couple years late, and my current partner moved halfway across the country to live here when I was still figuring out what I wanted to major in, leaving her family behind.....meanwhile, I still live with my family to this day. Both of these things are totally workable and not dealbreakers at all, but they still remind me of the fact that our life experiences are different and that we're sort of in different places in life.

Yeah Yong was never full-on GG to my knowledge but what makes outrage merchants like him dangerous is the pipelining. You start with people like Yong and SkillUp to get that toxic kick in, then you upgrade up to someone like Asmongold who goes harder and it really isn't too long before you have Quartering and Ben Shapiro in your recommendations. And Youtube's algorithms have only accelerated how fast that pipeline goes.

I would argue to a certain extent it depends where the moderates lie. If they are truly ignorant to the causes and really believe their cops are on the up and up I can absolutely see peaceful protests drawing attention to what is happening and pressure will be applied to change it. That said, that’s not the case here, you have decades of international incidents involving french police to the point that the only logical conclusion is that the moderates actually want a heavy handed police force, just not aimed at them.

Yeah, we need to stop doing that thing where we characterize moderates as ignorant biddy-babs who simply need to be informed about issues before making a decision, because the fact of the matter is they aren't particularly reliable voters for minorities regardless even when shit pops off like this.
