When Elon started going full-on off the deep end, there was part of me that wanted to be a little optimistic that maybe this would get conservatives to buy electric cars. But his descent also had him just making the cars worse and also completely anathema to conservative aesthetics, so now he just as a company for no one, liberals are buying Hyundais and conservatives are more fetishistic of oil than ever

To be fair, the whole EV market slowed but I am sure that Elon Musk reputation has damaged the brand significantly. Lots of people I know despise him and would never a car from Tesla because of it. He is quickly becoming a liability and if I was the board, I would make plans to kick him out.

Playing as "self insert" male characters makes me dysphoric so I haven't played any game with them since transitioning 3 and a half years ago, but I keep forgetting this and keep buying games with them in them such as Persona 3 R, TOTK, P4G, Danganronpa (fuck V3's first case twist), etc. It is a legitimate accessibility issue for me at this point and I am just sick of video games being created solely for the purview of men. The most crushing version of this was when Skyward Sword got rereleased on switch and I had to stop just after getting off Skyloft because I just couldn't cope any more.

I've helped treat burn victims and it is not pretty. Often, you have to use allograft (tissue transplant from another) to cover severely burned areas, especially if autograft is not a viable option.

In one burn victim we performed surgery on, we harvested skin to use as an autograft from another part of his body. I would imagine that this man's burns must be 98% or more. He's gonna see a lot of operating room visits if he manages to make it through.

i think it's pretty clear there's copy cat inspiration going on, and it's incredibly sad. i think fundamentally all people just want to be seen, and this is one of those end points some arrive at when they feel like this is the only way that will happen. at least he didn't hurt other people.

also, maybe this person isn't technically a Trump 'supporter', but if someone makes their dying message literally "Trump is with Biden" it implies Biden is like some greater, controlling evil that Trump fell to. there's a subtext there that's pointed specifically at Trump supporters, a warning of sorts. so we shouldn't be too dismissive about right-wing political ideation or affiliation. essentially, this person thought Dark Brandon memes were reality.

I think the thing that bothers me the most about this is, I'm sure his family had to see him struggle with mental illness for years/decades and maybe they wanted to help. Maybe they just ignored it and assumed he was fine. Maybe he cut them off. Either way, now something like this happens and it must be incredibly painful on top of hsi death and the cause of death to find out his motivations, since he made his manifesto is public, and knowing it's going to be national news for a while.
