Like I said, with doomsday climate talk going nowhere, BLM out of fashion and Trump out of power they just needed something else to latch on to.

I wonder what students are thinking that couldn't go to these "top" universities because their parents couldn't afford it, a few bad grades because of the COVID lockdowns or a lack of diversity points. Imagine having your dream of building rockets taken away because some well connected activist was admitted instead. 

Obviously some wealthy folks have cut funding to universities too, which usually means less opportunities for folks who can't afford it themselves.
